I love Garnet and I actually had some friends together to do a Steven Universe group cosplay but a lot of people know Garnet for being a strong independent black woman who don't need no man and I'm a short pudgy white girl. I might go for Rose Quartz instead though.

Hahaha this is great. You should just do Bobby anyway brah. I was looking around for cosplay of him just yesterday and I couldn't find any - not even shitty teenage girls poorly crossplaying him, nothing. As long as the rest of your costume was really good you could probably do him JUSTICE.

Anyone from Bobobo-bobo-bobo. I've considered going as Lambada, General Lee Fishcake, a genderbend of OVER, Giga, Beauty, Bobo-patch, and even Soften at some point.

It's my favorite anime of all time, but Ive never found anyone who appreciates it, not even slightly. I feel like any work I would put in to making one of these characters wouldnt do me any good because no one would recognize me anyway.

I wonder if that's the reason why people dont like it. Everyone always says to me that they couldnt understand it, and i really dont think that's the point of it? I mean, it does have a plot (contrary to popular belief) but it exists mostly as a parody, full of random humor.

I agree with >>7356544. You gotta have a Bobobo if you want a group, otherwise it just kind of falls apart. Most of the 'normal' characters are just vague looking enough that you wouldn't instantly recognise them if they were alone.
