The problem is that, even if there are good male cosplayers, they get overlooked by most photographers because they chase after female cosplayers. You look through some of the photographers' gallery, you'll find 5:1 female-male ratio.

I honestly just think there are less attractive guys in alternative and niche groups than there are attractive girls.
It's just my opinion but I don't think geek guys know how to work with what they have, whereas more girls watch the youtube videos and learn to style their makeup and hair etc. I'm not saying guys that go to cons are ugly, just that they aren't as clued up as some of the girls as to how to appear better.

It's just a stereotype, but that's the way I feel.

I myself have an average, but masculine face, am fairly tall at 6'5 and well built, around 245 right now, and am just getting into cosplay. I feel there aren't many guys my build into it, I mainly see shredded manlets as far as good bodies go for guys. I'd be shredded too though if I wasn't constantly bulking for Football, right now I'm just average, like at 15% bf.

I think it's more girls tend to be better at sewing/make-up/crafting than dudes, as those are more "traditional" feminine things. I see just as many good looking dudes at cons as girls, just more of the hot girls are cosplaying while the hot dudes aren't.
