This coord get posted here all the time, I've seen it like 5 times during this month only. I guess it's just me who's not the biggest fan of it - white lace on the collar clashes with cream lace on the bolero, and it looks silly, like she wears 2 collars. If this JSK (or OP? can't tell) was colarless it would flow together so much better.

Yikes a lot of these girls need to wear shorter dresses and/or heels because when dresses go past the knees it usually makes for very stubby looking legs. Which sucks because their outfits are great but then it ends up looking kind of awkward.

Yeah I personally can't stand that IW bolero style anymore (Millefeulle I believe it's called), especially as the milktea lace doesn't go with anything people coord it with and they try to use it with everything. I never really liked it to begin with but now it's just way overdone.

I still love the bolero, I just think that people need to coord it with things that match it properly. Too many people pair it with dresses that use white lace, when it calls for a deep ivory/milk tea.
One of my favorite coords that I've seen in person was a girl wearing it in brown with MM's Perfume Bottle.

The bolero has been popular for a while which is why IW rerelease it every year. It seems to be pretty common piece among classic lolitas' wardrobes so I wouldn't be surprised if I saw it frequently.

Interestingly enough, on the IW site there are currently 2 versions of the bolero - one with beige lace and the other with "cafe au lait" lace. I wonder if the lace really is beige.

The bangs themselves are super cute, but by having the sidelocks at the widest part of her cheeks, it widens her face into looking like a fatty-chan, rather than the rectangle face she has. It also showcases her very English looking jaw/cheek which ages her and makes her look more like a 40 year old than a sweet 16 (I had no idea she was that young).
At jaw length it would still look sufficiently hime, but it would thin her face

Lolno, it's just gone on sale so it's relatively cheap for a decent bolero. I was actually going to get it without seeing any co-ord done with it too, but the dress I wanted sold out so I didn't get it. It's pretty easy to seem like you're copying someone in lolita since the rules are pretty limited and everybody likes the same brands.

Nah, that bolero has been the standard 'good/high tier classic lolitas' bolero for well over a year now, it has nothing to do with the sale. Case in point, the ones wearing it in the pics in this thread. Xylia in particular really overuses it.
