Not that anon but the only thing that looks really off: I see you're trying to contrast with the accessories (which is good), it's just the color is too pale, and the wrist cuffs blend in with your skin so they don't stand out as much. I would just say find some accessories that still contrast while still standing out with your skin tone... But then again it could just be the lighting...

awww im taking a year off of school so i know how you feel, tuition is super expensive and i cant find any jobs in my field. I quit my minimum wage retail jobs because they just weren't worth it,living in the city is so expensive that making $40 a day just doesn't cut it. ; ;

Thanks! A lot of my friends including Robert (and to an extent Morgan too) have been having trouble getting jobs in their field. There are only a few I know from my year that got jobs. This girl Hilary was working at World War 3 as an editor I think and this guy Ian (aka the best guy from my year) is drawing for Detective Comics but that's mostly it.

I do make comics actually. It's what I went to school for. I've been dealing with a personal problem though and trying to get my head in the right place is more important than my art.

yeah nyc seems extremely difficult to find work in in general, i really hope everyone that graduated ends up finding work at least eventually. personally there seems to be way more work on the west coast especially for animators so thats why im trying to transfer schools, even if ill be demoted back to freshman status and have another 4 years of school I feel like its worth it just to try to break in.

Nia's bf here The art style is simplistic yet cute, the message is clear and adorable, I immediately turned to Nia and asked "is that what it's like?" jokingly and she squealed and exclaimed "yes!". It looks beautiful colored, I think black and white would only hurt it honestly, and usually I like black and white but the way it's colored captures the message perfectly.

That's actually one thing I don't like, I wish I could wear lolita without glasses but it's really hard for me to get contacts cause my eyes are curved weirdly, and these ones are probably the kind that match the aesthetic the most - even if they don't really! I think people should leave her alone about the glasses. She can't help it, just like how I cant wear certain shoes (rocking horse shoes or thin heels or shoes with inadequate ankle support -basically, Im stuck with orthopaedic footwear) because I have a genetic disorder that affects my ability to walk -among other things-.

Maybe the things I wear would be considered unlolita too, or maybe I pull them off, but its not really fair to say that a whole look is ruined by glasses, or shoes that are a bit clunky instead of being dainty when really, I'm sure she would rather not wear glasses, just like I'd rather wear nice shoes without having to go to ER afterwards!

I think she looks beautiful and that its original looking, Lolita doesnt need to be so strict, don't you think it would get stagnant if new styles and trends didn't emerge? What if Mana-sama never popularized the EGL side of Gothic Lolita? What if hime never happened? what if Ouji wasn't a thing? Glasses could be the next big accessory in lolita, who knows!

That aside, you're entitled to your opinion but you dont need to be so volatile about it, some of the things said on here can be really hurtful and shes wearing a beautiful outfit, why not say something about how cute it is instead of making the glasses the focal point, when, like she says, she doesn't have a choice but to wear them.

Ad nauseam. It doesn't work. If you're wearing it, it's part of the coord, and thus has the potential to ruin it. If there's nothing you can do about it for whatever reason, then fair enough. But you still have to learn to deal with being sub-par.

I change my glasses once a few years and I pick a day where I can spend some time trying different pairs before deciding which pair to get. What glasses do look good with lolita in your opinion?
I think the huge, fake "hipster" glasses are awful, but I also hate wire-framed/frameless glasses and the weird shaped ones like Cadney and Secretduckie wear.
Round glasses and glasses similar to 50s style meanswear glasses (horn rims) are the only types I've found that look both decent on my face and fashionable enough for me to want to wear them on a daily basis.
