I know we have dream dress threads occasionally but I've never seen a thread where people showed their very first dream dresses. Was it some awful Milanoo monstrosity or is it still your dream dress now? Did you ever get it? Post pictures/stories of your first dream dress!
Pic related was and still is mine. I'm pretty sure I first saw it in one of the English GLBs. I have the skirt now and I love it, but I've never seen the OP pop up in my size.

when i first saw lolita when i was like 15 i thought of the trash ita stuff and loved it. then when i was 18 i started to actually research it properly. and i instantly fell in love with vampire requiem an iron gate. i started wearing lolita when i was 19 and then a few months after that i finally got a black vr skirt. it was my second piece of brand. and now, a week ago i added the iron gate navy x black jsk to my collection. it makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

i think the term "dream dress" is over-rated. there are so many girls with an entire library's worth of a wishlist claiming those are ALL their dream dresses. also, how badly you wanted your "dream dress" when you first started out may not be to the extent of how badly you want it after a few years of loli-ing.

>> No.7268188

This is mine too anon, it's one of the most gorgeous pieces I have ever seen. I recently saw it for sale on one of the less popular secondhand sites but could not remember which one for the life of me. Congratulations on the skirt anon. I wish you luck finding it. Which size are you looking for? I'm looking for a 2 or 3

Congrats, anon, that's amazing! I love the feeling of finally getting a piece you've been searching for forever. Gives me a wonderful false sense of accomplishment.

I agree with you there. I have a ridiculously huge wishlist myself, but I only have the one dream dress. I guess everyone has different definitions, though! It's like the whole multiple waifus/husbandos debate. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the last part of your post, though.

>>7268188
Oh man, really? Must've missed it, there are so many second-hand sites and the only ones I regularly keep track of are CC and usagiyouhinten. I need to get more diligent! I'm looking for a Size 2, I think a 3 would just be too big since I'm on the lower end of the Size 2 measurements. And I'm not sure I'd feel confident about taking that particular dress in. Good luck to you too!

Mozarabic Chant short JSK in ivory was and is my dream dress. It's the dress that made me want to get into lolita actively, rather than just kind of look at other people wearing the fashion. Unfortunately I only found out about it long after the reservation ended, and it's difficult to find someone willing to sell it (in any color, not just ivory) in my size.

Mary Magdalene Fleur Antoinette, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul.

My dream dress since I was a 15-year old weaboo and barely knew about Lolita, and did not even plan to get into this fashion. I just saw a picture of it and fell in love, thinking it would be unobtainable forever.

I grew older, got a job and got into Lolita. I found my dream dress on Lolibrary, and almost started to cry because I knew it will never ever fit me.

I've seen it being sold on the auctions and was tempted to buy it, but I couldn't bring myself to spend an insane amount of money on a dress that will only leave me in tears. I want it so much, but we are just not meant to be together. ;_;

Alice and the Pirates' Gathered Chiffon JSK in either all white or all black, but preferably the white.
I saw it in the first GLB I ever bought back when I was 20 and only starting out.
Seven years and a bazillion re-releases later I STILL want it and STILL don't have it. The releases always seem to fall when I don't have money to spend, and I kinda want to buy it new. You know, just to be safe since it's white and all.
Some day I'll get to look like an asymmetrical ghost bride.

My first dream dress was Chess Chocolate in pink.
I don't even recall how I came across it, but I remember loving the print and seeing a few great coords that made me want the dress on my body right then and there.
I slowly started to loose interest as I began the fashion, and realized that the dress wasn't as pretty as it was when I first saw it.

I have two. I have been into lolita since I was thirteen (though I hadn't started until a few years ago), and I'm 21 now, so I have good knowledge of the dresses of the past. I never really fell in love with any of them until recently. The Mozarabic Chant in teal was my first dream dress. I love it so much, and it's truly a beautiful piece. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money until after the reservation ended, like you. My other dress is the beautiful and very popular Lost In Sea jsk.
And I've seen both of them in ita threads recently and it pisses me off so much that some bitches have my dream dresses and they can't coord or style or even WEAR A FUCKING PETTI. God dammit. Sorry, about that rant.

I love them both to this day. Even though my style is decidedly less sweet today I still pull out those two prints and wear them 4 years later.

Not the most exciting dream dress ever, but I love sailor themed dresses and pleats like crazy.

One was actually floating around mbok months ago and went weeks without any bids for 5000 yen, but that was the most poorfag I've been this entire year. Literally, as soon as I'd finally saved enough and was praying it wouldn't get any attention again and just be put up for auction one more time, it got bids and I've never seen another again.

My roommate is in to lolita but I wasn't. One day I came on /cgl/ and saw this dress.

Now its a few months later and I ordered my first skirt. Hopefully I'll be able to get this someday--it fits my bust but not my waist for now, but I think it has shirring so that will be helpful.

This dress is probably my 2nd but it was almost my first purchase, I had the page open from when they went up until it sold out.

Are you definitely sure it doesn't fit your waist? Meta's shirring is usually quite forgiving, 10cm above stock measurements is what I've heard for some dresses.

If it gives 10cm it might fit, but I'm still going to try and lose weight anyway because buying blouses is hell on earth with my measurements.

Thanks for the info though!

This was my first real dream dress. I had dresses I wanted before this one, but this was THE DRESS I had to get one day. I fell in love after seeing it on the cover of the English GLBs, but I didn't have the money for it for ages. Then, one day, it vanished from Milky Ange's site when they upgraded their layout. I was crushed. For about a year and a half, I hunted auctions and had no luck. Then, I randomly found it on Amazon.jp, realised it was the official Milky Ange account, and bought it right away.

Unfortunately, it's ridiculously too big for me because I got the M/L. I really need to get around to altering it.

How big is your waist?

I have the navy version of this dress! I'm afraid the bodice's shape is really well defined, so though it has shirring it doesn't really give without looking weird and stressing the material.

I'm thinking of selling mine because my boobs are too big for it, but I'm still so in love with the design. Also because I got dumped when I was wearing it, so I get sad when looking at it. First dress I bought new from a brand though.
