I've been wanting to buy a playboy bunny-type costume for a while online,
but I'm afraid I'll be too tall (I'm 5'11")
has anyone had any experience buying one of these before? how did they fit? where did you buy from?

They will need to be commissioned or made by hand. Bunny suits are very tight fitting to stay on right and the shitty stretchy teddies that some girls buy to wear are terrible.

There are tutorials out there, most notable Anime Angel/Rufflebutt's tutorial. Read up, expect to fail the first few times, and eventually you will have a suit.

I actually found a bunch of diagrams of a vintage Playboy bunny suit that was taken apart. It has all the pattern pieces and construction stuff (boning length, placement, etc). Playboybunnyclub on Yahoo has them. I have them saved but I'm out of town, if this thread is still alive when I'm back I'll upload them.

I suppose you could construct a bunny girl costume by looking up a good strapless bathing suit and Corset tutuorial, It shouldn't be overly difficult to combine both tutorials and create the strapless teddy with proper boning.
That or do the Corset + Matching satin bloomers.

There are Sailor Scout cosplays all over, but none of them end up being good. Unless you commission, you will have to alter things yourself. There is no go-to, ready to wear, mass produced Sailor Scout costume. Some are better than others to modify, but most are costume satin crap.

Those ~premium~ BuyCostumes Sailor Scout Uniforms seemed to be the best for the price when they went on sale for $10, but they're all gone now.

I would stalk eBay and other costume sites for buyer contributed pics and hope for the best.
