Hey /cgl/.

I recently ordered a few theatrical beard pieces and was wondering what is the best approach to making them look as realistic as possible.

I know that spirit gum is a good approach, but are there any other techniques to make it appear even more convincing? Make-up, any shadowing or other adhesives/application techniques? The pieces are real human hair.

Thanks.

I used crepe hair and spirit gum for a pirate costume a few months ago, and it looked reaally thick and a bit unnatural. It may have been because it was my first time using it, though. I have some pics on m'y computer if you're interested

If you're a woman, just stop. Stop right now. You will look horrible because beards only work with male faces. Otherwise you look like a retarded monkey.

Does anyone have any particular techniques to make fake facial hair work with a more feminine face? I'm not expecting to pass 100%, but tips to look more or less decent would be appreciated.

Pair it with some contouring. >>7246201 is a woman.

I wouldn't contour the brow quite as much as >>7246201 though unless you want to look perpetually worried.

Yea, I understood that from context.

Of course I already checked up general make-up tutorials for crossplay. Er, what would be the suggested method to go about stubble? More 5 o'clock shadow sort of thing.

Get a stipple sponge and some creme makeup that matches the character's facial hair. Carefully dab and tap that shit on with the sponge (cut/shave the corners off of the sponge's edges so that you're using a rounded end). Profit.

That doesn't sound too hard... (and pretty convenient too since I already own a stipple sponge although I haven't used it yet). Thanks anon! Any particular creme makeup, or anything will do?

obv u have to grow a real beard you pussy

My friend is needing to grow out some stubble for a future cosplay, but here's the thing: his hair colour is dark brown, and the costume is a sandy blonde. Any ideas how to colour or fake stubble? I don't think dying would work in this case as the hair would be too short..

You might be able to lighten it with eyeshadow. I do this for my own brows.
