I don't understand all this shit about MM being only for anorexics. I'm 5'7" and a healthy weight and MM fits me better than any other brand - the rest are all too short. Actually, the busts are always a little big for me and the waists are sometimes so. Charlotte Coat OP has a huge waist, for example - even pulled all the way in it's still a little big. You'd have to be seriously enormous not to fit the max waist of Charlotte Coat. Unless you are much taller or wider-boned than me, y'all just need to lose weight/eat some bran.

Well I'm still working to lose that last 1 centimeter from my bust. My waist already fits and all the weight/height charts say I'm supposed to lose 10 pounds. I'm hopeful and you can do it too, anon! Also, if you're not a fan of working out, there's no shame in getting a dress altered.

But you can ask people as many times as you want. It doesn't mean their answers are going to be right about how your individual body fits in a dress. Some people have more squishy waist or boob that goes inward when they zip up a dress. Some people have larger ribcages but smaller boobs so don't fit as well into the same dress, even if their measurements are the same as the first girl's. There are MM dresses under $170 on secondhand sites, so it's not that bad. Just resell it for that price + customs fees. Someone will bite.

My dream dress is the MM Lolotte OP! I know the official measurements say the max bust is 90 cm, but a girl in my comm told me she used to own it and says the actual max is more like 88 cm. Someone I once sold a dress to on the sales comm told me she's thinking of selling hers because she's too big for it, and I'm still considering whether or not to buy it from her just as inspiration to work harder. But I don't think I'm going to buy it soon, mostly because all these recent winter releases/reserves have killed my wallet!

Well I wasn't planning on doing that til I lost the last centimeter. I appreciate the advice about Mystery Garden, but dayum girl, I didn't think I had to "stuff" myself into it. Maybe it's just me being sleep deprived and PMS-ing but I suddenly feel really shitty about my weight. I now fit a JetJ size 1 but that's because they do vanity sizing. Their size 1 isn't really as small as they say.

The original release was about 10 cm longer and it just looked more elegant and suited the religious theme better. Also the print looked deeper and more crisp. The red was of a nice dark bordeaux shade and not a that weird undefinable catsup red. The waist ties also looked better than the corset lacing imo. The original release also used a very nice velveteen fabric (I used to own the original version so I can confirm), from the pictures the velveteen looked much thinner but maybe it's just the stock pictures..

The most disappointing part really were the missing waistties and the shortness, it riuned the dress to me.

Oh yea I forgot about the shortness. I'm really petite myself so having it shorter actually suited better for me, as well as swapping waist ties for the corset ties. I think in the original the stock photos the red velvet looked a lot nicer but in actual photos it looked more brighter. We shall see though when it gets finished and sent out to people.

Aw man the new sailor dress is as cute as the old one, but I see what you mean about cuts. Everything else is either too long and looks frumpy or too short/weirdly shaped and frumpy.. I wonder if the bodices would look less weird on a thinner model.

I really like the idea of the tartan dress and the black one right after it, especially those bodices, but the skirts look like they have the Bodyline problem- not enough gathering. And the tartan one looks so wrinkly...

something brand new from a brand name is going to run between 100-450usd ish depending on what kind of piece it is (skirt, jsk, OP, etc) and all different types of materials. ah, yeah it's not tartan or brand, but they use the word to describe fabric content, so it's going to be a gabardine cotton poly or wool blend, since the ones I'm thinking of that use it have that tight knit

as for most expensive, Moi-meme-Moitie and Mary Magdalene are the most expensive just on a item by item basis. Some brands release extremely expensive pieces once or twice a year, but their regular stock releases aren't as expensive as MMM or MM.

I'd probably say, outside of the scope of lolita brands though, Jane Marple is going to be the most expensive, and it can double as otome and lolita. Their stuff is pretty high dollar all around and most people seem to agree their JM pieces trump all their other brand pieces in quality by quite a lot.

The most expensive stuff you're going to find though are going to be small indie brands who only release bespoke pieces in mid-grade garment quality fabrics, and there's only a very small number of those. 4 O'clock is one of them.

I don't know what kind of fabric these dresses are, but I recommend wearing a good slip underneath to keep your dress from clinging to you (or your tights if you wear them).
