Hello all my lovely loli seagulls! My boyfriend proposed to me last night, and I've been bubbling with excitement ever since. But now that I have time, can we get a shiro coord thread going? I want to wear lolita as my wedding dress, so I'm looking for inspiration. I know Baby has wedding dress specific pieces like pic related, but it's hard to tell when they would come out, or if I would be able to get one.

Anyway, anything white goes, OTT is great of course, coords as well would be lovely!

Regardless of the wedding aspect, as a shiro fan, I'm loving this thread.

I'm surprised that there's not more hate. I've seen girls asking about lolita wedding dresses before who got ripped apart. I do agree that I wouldn't personally wear a lot of what's in this thread for my wedding, but everyone's got different quirks.

Lolita's in that weird place of being formal but not formal enough. But it's all in the details, not just the dress. >>7210633 This one for example, I think the socks should be nixed. Maybe replaced with tights or nylon otks. I'd hesitate with ruffles. A clean cuff would be better. The shoes are alright, better than straight up tea-parties, but a more classic styled, slightly pointed toe would look more mature and formal.

I think where some of the problem lies is sweet dresses for weddings. Out of all the lolita styles, sweet is especially about looking young and quaint. Weddings are big grown up things, so I can understand others expecting that you look mature, and sweet just won't do that. But that argument isn't much different from the regular 'You're an adult! Stop dressing like a little girl!!!!' thing that we get everyday.

SO I guess if OP is concerned about that, err to the side of classic styling. But remember: This is a ceremony about the love between you and your to-be husband. Wear what you think makes you feel beautiful. Everyone has stupid opinions on how to do weddings 'right', but there is no right way. The only important things you need are the signatures of you two, the officiant, and a couple of witnesses on your license, and that you two love each other. Literally nothing else. Don't let anyone make it into something you don't want it to be.
