I'm trying to make a Haro pillow prop. I have stretchy green fabric. The seams are very important and I'm trying to stay away from the "beach ball" look for its roundness. Instead, I'm trying to figure out what two shapes I need to cut out in order to make Haro's mouth line. The seam will be Haro's mouth line.
1. Is this possible? I'm hoping the stretchy material will round out after I over stuff it.
2. If possible, what shape do I cut out?

I've been scratching my head for a while and the closest thing I could muster was two ovals or two peanut shaped pieces. The ovals are what I'm leaning on because they make the waves more subtle. Any input would help greatly!

Also, ignore the circles on it's sides. I'm just going to patch them on later.

I actually have a Haro plushie, lemme go look at it. If I recall it's oversized football shaped pieces.

You're not going to be able to do it without putting in some extra seams or pulling the fabric over a solid foam ball shape.

Take a picture if you can!

the second pic has approx 4 seams minus the whole hand part. if it avoids the mouth part, that's all that matters.

Oh hey I found the thread

The second pic is also a hard body. As I said in my post, you can do it if you pull it over a solid shape. It won't be soft or squishy like a pillow though.

wouldnt the stretchy fabric allow it to be spherical after copious amounts of stuffing is used?

Soft stuffing won't hold the sphere shape if the outer part isn't the right shape. You'll end up with something that's lumpy.

would a four sectioned sphere work any better?

If I were to cut the two ovals in half... would that improve anything? Im trying to avoid using a hard shell. Its meant to be a pillow.

You mean like a seam down the sides? It might work, but it probably still won't be completely round. It'll just be a little bit flat. But maybe do a mock up and see for yourself.

If I was doing this as a personal thing, and I was dead set on it being Haro, I'd either do a flat pillow, or make the ball shape using extra seams.

when you say extra seams, do you mean you would follow a beach ball pattern?

Ah I'm sorry, I'm not good at explaining so I hope a picture will make it a bit clearer. It's similar to putting in darts to clothing, but you do it at the top and bottom to encourage a ball shape.

thats really helpful... thank you!
