It's getting cold out there and lolitas will need to buy nice coats soon! I'd like to buy one that is casual enough to be worn every day, too. Does anyone know about the seller "QutieLand" and if HMHM Sailor Winter Short Coat is worth the 84 bucks? It's cheap, so I don't expect it to last more than one winter.

>> No.7194527

Also, post about which coats you have and what your experiences with them are!

Qutieland is just a shopping service, and they are expensive. Honestly use a different ss. They get all their things off of taobao anyways. Look at the op post here:

I have Baby's Fairy Fur Jacket, and it is fairly warm. Although it's not quite winter where I live, it has gotten below freezing. The day I wore it on recently was just above 32/0 degrees, and although the coat didn't protect against the wind so well, the parts of my body that it covered (upper arms/chest) were rather warm while wearing it.

I'm really in need of a full length coat that can accommodate a lot of poof.

I got this in the mail 2 weeks ago.
When I ordered it I was worried it might turn out to be cheap Chinese garbage, but it's actually really nice and exactly as displayed.
I'm going to get some anti-pill fleece in the same colour and make a giant hood for it.

How so? The long piece can be slung over the oppsite shoulder btw, and it's so snug to wear in a classroom; like bringing a big blanket with you.

It looks good for something like you just described, but for walking around or doing things like the photo, it seems a little odd.
Does it have a button to hold the long part up on the shoulder? That would maybe be a good addition. It just looks weird hanging down like the stock image.

That's really lovely. Unfortunately capes don't really work day to day for me since I have to wear a backpack to school. (I know, it ain't kawaii, but how else am I going to lug a computer and several thick textbooks).

I've had my eyes on this F+F coat. Has anyone bought from them? When they say wool, is it 100% wool or a blend or what? I need a coat warm enough for a Southern Ontario winter.

>> No.7194908

>>7194872
You could always use a messenger bag. Then you could put the cape over it. As long as you keep the bag higher up on your person rather than lower, and it has a well padded strap, it shouldn't cause problems. Then again it's just not some people's cup of tea either, so it's understandable.

That coat is really cute.

>> No.7194965

>>7194908
There are no cute, quality messenger bags that can carry heavy textbooks and laptops.
They're also uncomfortable. I don't think I've ever had even a normal messenger bag that can carry my workload in a not painful way.

>> No.7194970

>>7194965
This may be a matter of personal taste, but I personally use a nice leather messenger bag and like the aesthetic. That said, they're somewhat expensive and not really rori or anything like that, so...

>> No.7194982

>>7194965
I wish I could do leatherworking. I want cute and quality messenger bags to exist so badly.

I understand though, if you have a really heavy load it's better to have two straps than one. I wish we could just switch entirely to digital textbooks, on kindles and ipads. Luckily a lot of my professors were lazy about our books.

Those sailor coats on taobao are definitely not worth the price. They won't last more than one season if you wear it regularly. Rakuten sells similar sailor coats, and their quality is much better. Just pay a little more and you won't regret it!

There are a few if you persevere in your search.
I own this one on the left, and whilst it doesn't look too big in the photos it managers to hold a fair amount of my college textbooks and folders.

There's also a kind of sailor style backpack on the right is anybody is interested. I was thinking of buying the white one.

Those bags have absolutely no padding and would kill your shoulder after even a very short period of time.
Also, those are nowhere near big enough for half of my shit.

I don't own this coat specifically, but I own a "wool" coat from F+F. I couldn't tell you if it's pure wool, but it is decently warm. I would not wear it if I was going to be outside for a prolonged period of time, but it works for walking to and from meets. (From another Canadafag)

I was wondering what kind of coats you seagulls could recommend! I live in the south and so it doesn't get too cold here, around 30 or 40F at night. The reason it's cold here is mostly the wind. Any recommendations for a coat/cape that won't make me burn up or freeze?

The coldest it gets here during the day is about 50F, which you can wear a wool coat for, but the indoors is pretty much always about 70 so you need to take the coat off.

I find lolita better suited for a colder climat than a hotter one, actually. I mean, I don't want to sweat in my burando now. Plus there are a lot of layers involved, so I'm more cozy in chillier weather than I would be in, say, just a normal long-sleeved shirt.
