I doubt a lot of the stuff in these room inspiration threads are very useful. The point is to be cute and liven up living spaces. I can see what you mean about something being inconvenient though. Decorative pillows for example

I think I saved this pic from here, this is probably another seagull's sewing room but the storage boxes there are so cute and they make everything look tidy.

I have storage boxes in my bedroom too and to be honest I just pour all of my things in those and they hide the mess so well haha.

Any gothic room inspiration? I'm moving soon and get to actually FUCKING PAINT FOR ONCE at the new place. I'd love to make my sewing room into something like a gothic lolita boudoir. It's not very big and I'd like to go with a black x white x gold theme if that helps narrow things down?

Since when were fairy lights useful? Mine are convenient in that the switch for them is by my bed, but the only "use" they have is for me to stare at them when I feel like it.

The picture behind the bed both makes me laugh and find it very cute. It's like when people put their cute clothes all over their wall, but the picture is much tidier, much more attractive, and much more useless.

I think some fake wood panelling on the walls or subtle wallpaper would make this room look much better. The black walls look too plain compared to everything else.
