I cosplayed Neptune recently and I'm about to start on Moon (regular, not Super or Eternal). Can I get some fuku critique from /cgl/ on what I should do differently on my next fuku?

Sorry, I don't really have any good photos and I'm not wearing my gloves in this one. The shoulder rolls weren't attached properly either, as they were last minute. I'm short with massive thighs too but that can't be fixed with costume modifications.

Uuuugh, you're one of the few people I've seen do the skirt right. I love the shape of it and how your hip rolls go down far enough, most people don't push them down very far.
I don't have any critique, all the little details are there, the fit is nice, the colors and material are nice the bow is nice and crisp and clean looking, good size...shit girl I don't know how you'd improve on this

Follow up question: What sort of odangos do you guys prefer on Moon? I want a solid goal in mind before I start on that wig and I'm not fond of several elements that seem to be common in Moon wigs (like the Christmas ornament looking buns [though I hate the sloppy/droopy buns more]).

I made the hiproll so low/the skirt short in an effort to lengthen my torso and legs so I'll have to play around with the next one to see if I can maintain these proportions while raising the front 'V' just a tad.
Also, thanks for the speedy/helpful replies! I didn't expect such efficiency in the middle of the afternoon considering how slow /cgl/ is.

Great job. And this is coming from a pretty critical sm person. Things I would consider tweaking for perfection:

Make the shoulder rolls, each section, rounder
Make the hip roll just a touch rounder on top, keep the flushness to your body, but just a bit more stuffing to pop them into a rounder shape on the top, and try and fix that tiny kink on the V
Consider inserting something Hard into the chest protector, it shouldn't be the same thickness or weight as the body suit as Naoko has publicly pointed out in drawings it is armour

These are just things you can do to perfect the suit, but it looks better as is than 9/10 suits I've seen.

Great job. Hopefully you made the gloves out of the same material, I hate seeing a nice material on a suit and then satin for the gloves.

I actually want to say as well that I think the depth of the V and the shortness of the skirt are actually perfect to me. BSSM characters have impossibly long legs and short, yet defined torsos with a small waist and I think you've achieved that with this as much as humanly possible though maybe a taller heel if possible (though accuracy is more important) to lengthen your legs even more.

Did you make her talisman as well and can we see a shot of the back and no wig to check the collar?

I would raise the V of your hip roll by about one inch. Also, taper it a little more so that it gets narrower the closer you get to the center. Then lengthen your skirt in the front until it's almost the same length as your skirt from top to bottom on the hips/sides.

Next, I'd lower your bow by maybe an inch and make it just a LITTLE bit taller. Your gem looks to be about the right size, but try casting it out of resin, and making it more than an orb, than a flat, fabric covered or matte button.

Your sleeves could be a bit more 3D, too.

Overall, though, an excellent job!

This wig is fine. even though the color is a bit agressive (it's accurate but doesn't work well IRL)

One of my biggest pet peeves concerning the wig is that it always seem too flat for me, not enough volume on the top part. Sometimes it is due to the buns being too droppy.
Sure, mangaka tend to draw alien heads and it wouldn't translate well IRL, but I feel a bit of volume would be better on usagi's wig. It would also help make the cosplayer face seem a tad smaller, which is good since usagi has a small and delicate face.

Why are Western cosplay skits always so badly choreographed and unsynchronized? The costumes never match in terms of fabric/construction/material, and the heights never match. The energy is also way down, like they haven't eaten in days or couldn't give a shit. Watch this, even in just the first 2 minutes it's obvious the difference in effort put into this. The moves are on time with the music, and in sync with each other. Also keep watching to see Jupiter make an amazing spin kick.

I did make the mirror! I actual bought an antique frame off an anon in a sale thread and then painted it, put in pseudo glass and made a back. Although I made the back in the hotel room so I need to re do it properly/not rushed. Pic related, my mirror. Taken with my phone camera though so some of the pigments are...strangely blurring and it the wrong place??

I think it's the contrast with the green lighting. I've shot models with color gels and it can really change some things either for the better or the worst. I've seem people fuck up faces and bodies just by placing the gels in the wrong place.

There's a lot of things making me 'eh' in this photo. The fabric is really shiny (the suits really shouldn't be super shiny, they're never depicted that way) and the skirt pleats look awkward and the boot covers look bad.

Things I do like: Wig, Shoulder pads and guards, the chest protector looks to be a different material and thickness, big plus in my book, and the skirt shape itself is good, it's not limp, it's angling out from the hips properly.

I think the blue is really transparent and her natural brown eyes are drowning out the blue. If you look closely there's a bit of color near the limbal ring. It's a shame they didn't work.

Hey guys! Going to be doing Super Sailor Moon in a group at Katsucon. I'm absolutely stoked.

I have the outfit and props figured out but I was hoping you guys could give me some ideas about doing the wings like in pic related? I really like the idea of them because I haven't seen many Super versions incorporate the wings seen in the transformation.

use a rolled hem on chiffon! some sewing machine feet do it all for you- it provides a nice discreet finish, stops fraying and adds a teeny bit of bulk to the ends that ruffles nicely.
