Is anyone tried of these easy as hell Disney/Homestuck cosplays? It's so annoying just stop doing it god

>> No.7157685

Ew, that Megara. The fucking face, jesus.
I'm more sick of ratchet girls cosplaying Disney Princesses they couldn't hold candles to, i.e, this fucking bitch in the op.

They're not bad for a first cosplay or something, I just hope that they learned from it.

>> No.7157705

Everyone has to start somewhere. I'd rather people do a simple costume in a mediocre way than really fuck up a harder costume because they haven't learned enough about making costumes yet.

I can't understand for the life of me why this girl refuses to wear makeup when she cosplays. Why do cosplayers in general think it is an ok thing to do?
There are a fuckton of youtube tutorials so there is really no excuse.

>> No.7159366

>>7157705
I feel the opposite way. I'm more insulted when someone doesn't have enough heart to even attempt something themselves. Then again, this /cgl/, and judging on anything more than pure aesthetics is fucking stupid.

Who's with me?

>> No.7159380

We all start somewhere, maybe they're new cosplayers

>> No.7159389

>>7157705
But most people don't learn from simple cosplays. What do you learn from painting a number on a shirt or pulling shit out of your closet and wearing it with a party store wig? Especially in the homestuck community when that is considered okay. Then the person is praised to hell and back, and they never improve.

Effort trumps end results when it comes to new cosplayer, at least in my opinion.

She is wearing makeup though? Or do you mean like full face contouring?

>> No.7159400

my first cosplay was a disney closet cosplay and I was with my friends who cosplayed Homestuck

I had fun

This honestly would not be as terrible if she would fucking use chiffon with a lining instead of unlined satin.

She might be wearing some eyeshadow and lipstick but it looks very incomplete. Megara has really defined eyes. She needs eyeliner and mascara. Falsies wouldn't hurt either since it is a Disney character.

Guess what. There have always been newbies and select series that newbies have flocked to and everyone was sick of it. Move along now. Nothing new.

>> No.7159457

Eh fuck you, op.
I'm still going to go through with my plan to make a few Disney cosplays.

>> No.7159461

I think she looks fine, the fabric is just too shiny. She's got a cute face, it's just not Meg's. She can't really change that...

>> No.7159468

>>7159389
I disagree as someone who just started learning to sew. Simple cosplays would help teach proper techniques, what not to do, what sort of fabric is better/harder to work with, etc., while being not too easy to fuck up (theoretically). Even just modding a shirt, such as painting something on it, still teaches you what fabric paints are good, how to make it look not messy, etc. Of course, this is assuming the people starting out are looking to do something more elaborate in the future and want to improve. Otherwise, let them have their fun.

For the beginner cosplays, it lets you know who isn't a full-blown Autist who spends every waking hour making sure the stitching on their Cosplay is so perfect it's near invisible.

As for Homestuck cosplayers, they act like big flags that warn you of potential dangers.

Really, I care, but only because it makes it easier to avoid people.

They're talking about the obscure shit almost nobody does, not the dumb trolls and humans. There ARE difficult HS cosplays, though they're few and far between. But they exist.
