I follow 60 blogs, I usually only follow blogs that I find really interesting or friends. Also, I kinda go crazy if one person post too much and floods my dash haha.

I used to have over 6k followers on my old blog, but I wouldn't call myself e-famous just because of that since I only posted impersonal, "pretty" pictures. It wasn't like I was famous or that anyone knew my name, they just followed me in order to reblog pictures for their own blog, and if I forgot to post in just 1 day they would unfollow me. It just got really stressful after awhile, and I found out that I actually started to care more about how many followers I had rather than just having fun.

IMO, you are e-famous when people recognize you name, face and/or work. It's not just about how many followers you have.

I don't think it's a certain number- more of a visibility thing. I think when a certain account is frequently reblogged by various people and almost becomes a 'household name' is when there's some 'fame' involved.

imo it's more based on how many of them interact with you that makes you e-famous. I run the fyeaharpakasso tumblr which has +2k followers but generally it doesn't get a whole bunch of activity.
Also I like to make myself feel better by being more proud by the successful posts I've made.

Also there are several people in this thread whose blogs are exclusively original content, and those kids of blogs are exactly not difficult to find on tumblr either.

I don't have a huge number of followers (58), but for me it's been original content that gets a lot of reblogs. Pictures that have never been posted on Tumblr before, like books and manga I scan (poorly) or images from YAJ and other Japanese websites. It also helps to have someone follow you that's really popular so if they reblog you'll get attention from users who might not be aware of your blog. If it wasn't for one decently popular retro anime/manga blog following me I seriously wouldn't have gotten over half of my followers.

Another thing people like to do is reblog really popular posts or posts from popular blogs that don't have a lot of tags, right when they're posted. I don't do that much but some people say the key to a popular blog is to repost so eh.
