/cgl/, what are some cosplays you really want to do but can't because you worry you won't be recognized at all? What about cosplays you wish you could do but would need a group to pull off?
I want to cosplay Kaisei so badly (she's so cute!) but I doubt I'd be recognized without being part of a group.

I actually want to cosplay Kimmy, too, and I would absolutely love to see a Kimmy costume! If you were wearing it to a west coast con, I'd even finish my Dr. Naomi or rewear Jeane to have a NMH friend! Also, the background for that art is comically relevant to this thread.

Obscurity has never really prevented me from cosplaying things before, but I have some costumes I want to do that I know no one would recognize at the con. I'm in the middle of patterning one and spending tons of time and money on it, knowing no one will know who the hell I am.
I want to cosplay like every class from FF3 because they're all so adorable and I got completely addicted to that game, but no one at cons has played FF3. People online get excited for FF3 love, but that's different from walking around the con when no one knows who you're supposed to be. At least FF designs are pretty iconic, but it's still kind of a bummer.

My pair of friends want to cosplay from FF3 too. Well, actually one friend has made a cosplay of the Sorcerer class, so cool stuff. They want to make it a group cosplay with me included but I'm not attached to FF3 in any way so I don't feel up to it. Anyway, my Sorcerer friend got a few people recognizing her and took pictures of her. I can see some classes being more recognizable than others (or more like some classes being mistaken for others), but I say just do it because it sounds like you'll enjoy making it and wearing it, and you'll never know till you try.

Isn't Oh My Goddess pretty popular? I thought it was a few years ago? I think you'd get recognized.

Theres a few characters from the _ of mana series I'd like to cosplay. One being pic related, the girl from Children of Mana. I really love the designs of the characters in all the games but I don't think anyone would actually know what I was from.

You think so? Everyone thinks I'm talking about VI when I talk about III because of the release issues in the U.S. Please cosplay from Child of Mana! I've seen several Mana cosplays at cons, and even if no one recognized you, they'd want photos anyway because that character design is just gorgeous.
