As someone who has done both sewing machine and embroidery machine applique they both have their pros and cons. Embroidery machines always need a preprogrammed pattern to make anything nad it can be really frustrating going back and forth between the software that lets you design the pattern and then finding out it doesn't read how you thought on the machine. Second the size of the applique you make is limited. On commercially available Brother machines the biggest hoop only allows for about an area of 5" x 12". Which can definitely be used for some things, but for things like swirls and lines I personally just go for the sewing machine.

One thing about this show that really pisses me off is that all the girls in it talk about how much effort they put in their "amazing" cosplays, but most of the footage is about their boyfriends/roommates/friends doing the difficult jobs. Like the car in this episode, it's basically all done by the roommate.
I get that maybe everyone doesn't want to do or don't have the skills to do everything by themselves, but it's pretty shitty to talk about all the work -they- did if it was done for them.

Not a chance. I work in TV production. Granted, not for an American network, but I can't imagine things work too differently in the States. Something like a 6-part series which doesn't follow a live timeline is edited and finalised weeks in advance of the first episode airing. Episode 6 will have already been in the can for a month at the very least, if not two months.

The cause of the change in episode 3's tone is really easy to pin point. Yaya wasn't around for very long and Victoria wasn't present at all. Take out the two biggest shitmunchers and you've got yourself a much calmer show. The only drama was completely manufactured. If you look at the scenes where Holly and Jessica are ''fighting'' you can see them using the same footage multiple times in short bursts and the timeline of the scenes is all over the place as they use earlier responses as reactions to later comments.

Episode 3 is as aggressively edited as the previous two. The difference is this time it's 100% fake drama and before it was merely 50% fake drama.

I'm not the anon you're replying too, but instead of changing your breasts have you tried to embrace that you have a healthy chest and tell others who try and bug you about it to piss the fuck off?

I'd say get a fat graft instead because implants carry a huge risk and they have to be maintained in order to keep them looking proper.

If you do get them you'll eventually have to get a matching one in the other breast as you get older and it starts to sag/not look as nice as the other

Just a thought with the newest episode. People are saying the Rocketeer cosplay was done years ago but is this con they showed just now recent? In the audience I saw a Shingeki cosplayer and I'm sure SnK was around before hand but I don't think it was really cosplayed much so it must be recent. What I'm asking basically is are they reusing old costumes for recent cons and being allowed to re-enter costumes or what? I'm really confused.

It's pretty silly to me, because I don't see why they can't just say "So and so is pulling out their old blank costume to make some modifications for insert con!"

The only REAL problem I see is that damn Tron dress entering when 1) it was made years ago and 2) it's just a purchased dress with lights attached

As long as the old costumes haven't been entered into competition before, it's still fair game to enter them now.

There was a discussion a few weeks ago about it. She never discusses games that she actually recently played or enjoyed. She doesn't know jackshit about GoT (like a lot of the newer fans) and cosplayed a character that required little depth or research (considering she even got the fucking eyes wrong for Daenerys). Another Anon brought up how in an interview for a series that she cosplayed a character from (the name escapes me, sorry), that she kept pronouncing the name of who she was cosplaying incorrectly yet claimed to be this massive ass fan.

As I've said, it's been discussed. Maybe you just weren't around. It's pretty easy to spot to begin with, anyway. She claims that she doesn't sleep for days and stays up making cosplays, so she doesn't have time to read comics or play video games. She probably cherry picks the hawtest character from upcoming titles she finds with a simple Google search or Googles "female Marvel characters" and just goes down a list. I wouldn't put it past her.

It's really about how MANY costumes she cranks out in a short period of time. People I would consider being pro cosplayers (Multiple BiS winners, guests at cons, etc) maybe can crank out 1-2 quality costumes in a month, and Yaya is somehow coming out with 4-5. Most have no "in progress" shots either. I'm not saying she doesn't do them all but it doesn't seem to give her enough time to make all of the ones that she keeps debuting.

She's been doing this for over ten years, and it literally is her full time job. So yes I can see her easily cranking out that many especially since she sticks to a limited range if patterns. The people you're thinking of either don't make a living off it (so they aren't spending 40-60 hours a week doing costumes) or are doing much more complicated costumes. Yaya basically does one 'big' costume a month with little filler ones in between. And I still wouldnt think some shadowy seamstress would have stayed silent for this long and Yaya doesn't make enough money to pay someone enough to crank them out. I've known professional tailors (and these people are doing garment quality pieces, way above costume grade) and they could easily crank out 3-5 costumes on her level a month.

I don't like her or her pick of costumes but it seems obvious she is the one doing the work imo

Episode one- OH NO! I'M NOT GOING TO FINISH! Neither are we! This is so stressful and crazy!! WHAT WILL YAYA SAY?!

Episode two- BODY IMAGE. SEXYNESS. ??? PROFIT!? Everyone is too sexy! Everyone is not sexy enough! WHAT WILL YAYA SAY!?

Episode three- Yaya's out of the country....
-Showed how cosplayers amp up simple costumes with big alien props.
-Latex, molding, helmet making, non-slutting up a man character, but actually finding the female sexy version of it, kit-bashing lighting, bald caps intros.
-Not super skinny girl wins award for being Tank Girl, aka inhumanly impossiable skinny character. (feelsgoodman.jpg)

-biggest drama of the show was a realistic one of two best friends that always cosplay as a pair compete against each other and everything turns out ok, and yet they figured out that they have more FUN doing it together.

First of all, being mean isn't on her time. If you're someone who is building a profession out of fan interaction, then by definition, having a bitchy personality to people who may be fans of yours is the absolute opposite of what you should be doing.

Second, plenty of people know the type of bitch that she is now thanks to the show. People within the community already knew prior, but the show made it more widespread. And, there are people who have stopped buying her pictures. It is happening and there are people even burning their calenders with her on it. (It may sound dramatic, but that's what happens when people lose faith in someone they idolize.)

Lastly, it doesn't matter if she's making money or if she's happy (which is completely debatable based on some of the shit she's said and done). What matters is that she's trying to achieve this "happiness" by making cosplayers look bad. It's fine to try to be happy, but when it comes at the expense of others, it is wrong.

She's making money? That's great, so do hookers. Hell, some of them make more money than myself and Yaya combined. That doesn't mean that it's a good idea to go spreading your cheeks to anyone with a buck.

Merida had a Scottish native as her VA, so yeah, she pulled off a nice accent without making it muttedled. BUT there were characters that were so hard to understand, they even made a joke of it. "Whatja say lad? I cannut understana word ya say!"

Honestly you just get better at sewing. It doesn't take long. I'd say it was maybe 4 years before I started churning out impressive tailoring and using unusual fabrics for special effects.
The more prolific you are the more efficient you get and you will do more daring things.

It's like a new musician bursting on the scene. No one burst on the scene, there were more than a few hours put into learning how to play.

JLinto, Elysium, and a few others who had permanent setups and nowhere to go after getting removed for the 501st dinner. HoC had nothing to do with it.
