It's possible to develop allergies randomly, I've heard (or maybe not so randomly, but the reasons are usually subtle so it seems random). I guess try switching to different makeup and see if that helps.

The thing is, I don't think it's the makeup. Within the last couple of months I've developed allergies to roughly... 12 new things. My preexisting allergies (latex and smoke) have gone from mild to hives, breathing issues, chest pain, and all sorts of other shit level of severe. Sometimes when I take showers the water hurts me. When I go outside I develop a rash right away. It feels like everything is trying to kill me now, ha. Can't even snuggle with cats anymore.

My friends are pretty mean to me about cosplaying, I used to be pretty fat and would always go on about how I'm too fat to cosplay anything cute. ;_;

Plus I have jacked up arms and legs from when I was a teenager and cut myself like a weirdo so cosplays I can do are limited.

You can try using dermablend. I've heard it works. Doesn't help with raised textures but it works well in hiding tattoos so that is an option

You're both adults - sneaky meetups held to exclude people, manipulating your friends who AREN'T even in lolita to un-friend them on facebook, tumblr rants and family gatherings which again are centered around exclusion, manipulation and taking the opportunity to slander someone's character.

Myself and the other girls are trying so desperately to not get dragged into this drama shit-fest and be told to pick sides when there is no proof, only second-hand/very one-sided information. (The more one-sided the story, the more I am judging you)

We are pissed at the antics, even more so that it's assumed that we cannot see that there are two sides to this story and that we want to be included in the bullying that's going on.

I hope to meet with the other story side and to do so in person.

I just moved back to the state I am in so my fafsa covered everything except for about $500. It's a matter of us having to scrape together what we could for a couple of weeks to hold us over. Like our electric and internet bills, since my dad and sister are looking for jobs we have to have both. And the money we needed until I get paid on Wed. was about $300. My dad's check for unemployment will cover most of our costs once it gets here. We're just lucky enough that our house was paid off for back in the 80's so it's mostly just utilities that we have to worry about. And my dad had to spend most of his savings to go out to Nebraska since a few of our relatives are extremely sick. It was a matter of a whole bunch of stuff happening all at once. I can wait four more months to go back to school.

I guess it could always be worse. I could have nobody sharing the room. It just kind of sucks that he doesn't talk to me at all, except when it pertains to the convention. I do all the legwork of booking the room, finding a hotel, organizing when we buy airline tickets, etc. We once both happened to be headed in the same direction in the venue where the convention was and he turned around and yelled at me to stop following him. I feel like I'm being used, but then again maybe I'm just using him to pay for 50% of the room cost, too.

I guess it boils down to, I just wish I had a friend to geek out with and be silly with at conventions. I can do it alone, I always have. I would just get so much more out of it if I had one friend to enjoy it with.

That's what makes it complicated. I can't complain because he always pays in full well before the con, he doesn't trash the room/ is respectful (ex: isn't up all night blasting music or whatever), and I trust him enough to share living space with him.

I just don't appreciate some of the stuff that has happened (the yelling incident) and once we're off the plane he's literally gone and I don't hear from him for awhile until it's time to get a room again.

Maybe I am asking too much, I just would like a convention friend to hang out with sometimes. I use the room situation as a reason to go out and socialize at the con, but nothing ever lasts beyond the few days of the con.

I am happy that we still get to hang out, but the play-flirting thing is still going on and has started frustrating me, especially since popular likes are "we both complain about not being able to find a date, we should just go out together!" when I know from the way that they've play-flirted with others that it's completely 100% a joke.

I'm leaving to move back to school again this Friday, though, so I'm hoping to find someone there this semester. I figure that it's time to let this one go, and if we really are compatible, something will happen down the road when were both out of school and stable.

I use to wear tons more gothic fashion in high school and that's when I hard the hard time matching blacks. Most of the things I bought were cheaper so I just handwashed everything. In lolita I mostly get, the dresses at least, dry cleaned so the blacks stay rather dark. Never had an issue match blacks in gothic lolita. (woolight for darks is awesome thought)

Probably a mixture of everything. This is why in movies and TV they stick to certain types of make up that is different to your normal street make up. How things look in person is different to how they look when captured and put on a screen. Then there's the problem of screens having bad color on top.

This is why you don't do your make up so you think you look good in the mirror, you do it so you look good when someone takes your picture.

This sounds like maybe it was your first time cosplaying? this is basically every con for me and is very common. Not everyone who takes photos at conventions upload them to public places or even at all. The interviews thing is odd, but keep in mind it may take people weeks to edit those things sometimes.

The only way I make sure I actually get photos from a con is to set up a shoot, otherwise I only ever find like 2 even if I had hundreds of photos taken. Such is the fickle nature of cons.
