I have an acquaintance who just got work as a face character at Disney. I'm happy for her because it was always her dream - she dropped out of college to pursue it - but also I don't like her that much and am glad I don't have to make excuses not to see her any more.

She was always a bit odd. A pretty stereotypical theater kid and not a terribly nice one. But she's good with little kids and she has a lovely face, so she'll do well.

One of the biggest reasons I like Disney cosplay is because they also show so much class.

Wow, I knew someone like that at school. Everyone didn't like her, but at the same time, everyone wanted her to like them. She was really quite good at acting though. Ah, high school. Wonder where she is now.

I honestly feel like it is very common for Disney employees to be college drop outs. I've given it a thought, but saw that people were getting paid minimum wage which is less there than where I am at. And I was very unimpressed with the kind of work they do. I feel like with a job/internship like that, I wouldn't get anywhere in the career ladder, especially considering how many people Disney hire and how they're at every fucking campus across the U.S. and probably the world.

face characters get paid jack shit, big bucks go to the artists who paint murals and other little details

Former Disney employee here. It's actually pretty easy to move up in the ranks if you stick around, most of the workers are seasonal/CPs (college program, temporary workers).

Disney always posts about wanting a trained seamstress to work on like awning repair for their buildings or some stupid shit. I've thought about it. I mean,I have a year and a half work experience as a professional stitcher.

Then I don't really think I'd have the balls to move from here to work there so such as it is.
