I can't get mine to look right whatever I do, so bonnet thread!
Hard, soft, half and full! Any you'd recommend, avoid? Hair tips with bonnets and tricks to get them to sit right? All bonnets all the time!

Yesss, bonnets are my #1 favorite accessory.

And my tip is to always have bangs of some sort when wearing a bonnet whether they're real or a wig/clip.

Sometimes bonnets without bangs can be fresh and charming (pic related), but usually you need something in front, even if it's just some fake side swept bangs.

I have a bonnet that's creased in the centre (pic related) so it sits sort of domed, rather than in the photo.

Anybody got any ideas other than open-bonnet surgery?

I do two things to my stiff half bonnets.

1 - Seam rip a corner of the base, insert a Goody headband, restitch. When you put the bonnet on, it holds just like a headbow would, and you dont have to rely as much on the ribbon and can tie it loosely or above the bonnet in a side bow on really hot days when you don't want stuff on your neck.

2 - When wearing clip in falls, I safety pin two small loops of brown (or whatever your hair color is) elastic to the base of the bonnet right in front of where the falls will be. Put on bonnet, clip in falls, then pull the hair of each one through the loops. You should be able to do a cartwheel with the ribbon untied - it's not coming off.
