While I do agree with you, I think it's better to just practice and read up on it, watch tutorials, etc. It's pretty essential to most AT cosplays. You wouldn't cosplay say, Jack Frost without the frost on his clothing just because you didn't know how, would you? It also goes the same for styling wigs. Learn how, practice, do it. Trying is better than not trying. And by trying, I mean actually trying to make it look good, and practicing, and even getting a little help if necessary. Bodypainting is one of the easiest things to do when it comes to cosplay, imo. It's just makeup.

Well, if able, you can always order it online. Check out Ben Nye, Mehron, Snazaroo, etc. When I cosplayed a male Homestuck troll, I really just bodypainted my lips and then put some contouring darker grey eyeshadow over it. It stayed all day! Though, I don't eat messily or drink anything without a straw in my makeup. You can always reapply in the washroom, though. You could also ask the HS thread for some tips, because I don't have much else to offer.

Anyone have any other massive Ice Kings?
It is sort of hard to see in the photo but this one was giant.

Most others I see are always limp blue robes.

There aren't many good Adventure Time cosplays yet, it looks like. Even though it's apparentally "overdone", I've only ever seen a couple in the few years I've been going to moderate-sized cons.

She has blue eyes based on her other cosplays but shes got contact lenses on for Fiona.

Maybe something happened with the socks and she didn't have time to fix it before the convention? She made all the Ice King costume at the last minute and it sounds like things where rushed.
Based on the other things she has done the stripes seem even more of a weird detail to miss.

LSP cosplay contributor here. I'd say you should start with picking the most accurate and easily-achievable color fabric you can. Then match your wig and body paint to match by dying your wig and mixing bodypaints to be the perfect color. Mismatching purples is a petpeeve of mine for LSPs. Back to your question though, I'd say the 3rd from the top looks the most accurate. I'd say a teeny bit more saturated/purple would look best though.

All in all, this LSP is my favourite so far. The things i say the people who are cosplaying LSP in the future should avoid is:
>mismatching purples (cod-tier in the photo is guilty of this)
>non-accurate purples (a bit less important as long as it all matches, but still. cod-tier's looks a tiny bit dark.)
>unsealed bodypaint
and for some more aimless critique for cod-tier, her tights look out of place and i think they'd look better Purple to match her skin. She needs to seal her paint better, it's all rubbed off and blegh. I think i've said everything else thogh. Good luck now, I think. I'm going to continue contributing random shit though probably

Does anyone actually cosplay AT anymore? I've been wanting to cosplay Lady Rainicorn for literally what seems like forever, but I never see any Adventure Time cosplayers in real life and I'd just feel like the odd one out. Who here still cosplays AT from time to time or sees AT cosplays at cons?
