I don't really like what you've done to be honest.
I think the dress and the cardigan can work together but the accessories are too.. classic? Maybe light pink shoes? Or red shoes? Tights in a stronger color (brown, dark beige, even blue maybe)? Fun accessories (the purse is cute, it might work)?
It does need more thinking. One thing is certain, though: the fawn color has to go.

I could make a collage later, if you'd like. Right now I'm kinda busy.

I would say lose the collar and switch up the shoes to something cuter, maybe ETC's glitter shoes in red? i think ankle socks would look cuter but that's just my opinion.

I think that will be your best bet, yeah. I've only seen them come up on comm sales like twice, and even then it was only the pink ones.
Clobba had a pre-order for the Secret Shop knockoffs about a month back, but I'm not sure if it's still open.

I'm trying to collect more examples of otome coords where the colors and prints are bold maybe, but not too busy and clashy? Where they have more of a royal or retro look without being quite as "cutesy"?

I'm not sure how to explain it quite, so I'll post some examples of what I'm looking for. I think it's more of a Jane Marple look overall but I'm not sure, I'm still trying to learn more about otome.

I know what you mean. That's the kind of otome I like the most. Vivienne Westwood has some stuff like that too but it's quite difficult to pop up here/ at street snaps.

Marple's hard to get since they have no online store, no phone orders, no e-mail orders, and no licensed overseas sellers.
In order to get JM you have to buy it in store, use a SS that will go buy it in person (even then they turn known SS shoppers away) or buy it secondhand
