The main girl is fine though. She seems nice and relatively normal. They all just seemed nervous and the commentators aren't making fun of them or anything really. If you watched the stuff before it, it's all pretty nice during her visit in Japan.
Most of them had bad outfits, yea (im not into lolita) but none of them were doing anything really embarrassing. What's the big deal. I thought it was cute.
Not knowing Japanese is nothing to be embarrassed about, Jesus.
I know how to introduce myself/simple sentenced in Icelandic and a bunch of other languages but thats about it. It's normal to not be fluent just because you like something from another country.

Here's a basic summary. The show's premise is to go around to various airports to ask (and follow) foreigners about where and why they're traveling in Japan.

They meet Aririn and her mother, and follow her around Japan for a while, where they go to a maid cafe. 1 year later, they receive an email from Aririn that says she loved her trip to Japan, she moved in with her boyfriend, gives her address in Virginia, and that she would love to go to Japan again.

The show goes to Virginia to visit her as a surprise segment, but she's not home. 2 hours later, they arrive at her house just in time to see her car pull out. They follow her car in hopes that when she stops, they'll try to talk to her. They catch up to her at a stop sign, on her way to the supermarket. They also have dinner with Aririn's boyfriend and mother.

On the third day, the show gets called over to a Japanese restaurant where there's a local lolita meetup happening. They asked them about the fashion, and take individual shots of them.

The comments the hosts made were pretty respectful. They ranged from "they look good," to "she's 17? She looks like an adult."

They end with telling Aririn that they hope to see her again, and to the other lolitas that they can visit Japan sometime.

All in all, it was nothing too awful other than some of the coordinates, but they look like they're having fun.

This is funny and really cute, and Aririn or whoever is mega cute and your mom is cute too. Lucky that they were allowed into the maid cafe, as I heard a bunch of them don't allow foreigners. The hosts do seem a bit mocking if you've never watched Japanese variety shows, but it's very respectful compared to some other shit I've seen even with Japanese talents on entertainment shows. It doesn't seem in bad spirit, their comments are appropriate, and it seems fair without much "LOL GAIJIN". There is a bit of that I guess, but like there would be for any foreigner on vacation in another country.
