I recently got the Kicks store and I really want to cosplay him. There wouldn't be a problem with making or buying anything but I don't know what to do for the wig. Maybe grab a short black and sew some white wefts into the bangs to be styled out?

Oh yea, the sad thing is that you will be blind unless you do the mascot head with the same fabric they use for zentai and eye holes cut from the foam. The second option is harder though it doesn't hurt to take off the head, it can get pretty hot I imagine. Though make sure to have a handler anyway.

I can't give you any help on the wig, but I wouldn't bother with the face paint, especially if you're going to do Cyrus since his face is pretty near to skin color.

I haven't seen any tutorials specifically on a pompadour, but I know there are tutorials for Toph's wig, and that's a similar concept- laying hair over a soft structure to cover it and form the shape, so I'd look into that. You might also want to look into hairline tutorials, that might have them?

I've got Curt on my future cosplay list but I have no idea when I'll even start on him. If I was ever going to wear him, I would certainly want a group with me. I doubt I'd be recognized on my own and it would just be fun to have an Animal Crossing group.

My biggest challenge with him is the black ring he has around his snout. I was thinking of turning that into a fake beard, but I'll have to work with make up and wig clippings A LOT before I can get the trick down.

I also don't know, exactly, how to pull him off. The shirt he's wearing in the pic is his signature shirt, yes? I'm debating on whether to wear a tight grey long sleeve shirt and have his shirt worn over it, or to wear a grey hoodie sweater with ears on the hood and having a coffee mug painted to resemble the shirt ('cause, you know, he's a night owl and is tired for most of the day, he'd probably need coffee?).

I do know his prop will be a shovel.

I think your idea of a grey shirt with the signature tanktop over it would work fine, but the hoodie would be really cute. If you do the hoodie, maybe have the main body of it be his signature shirt, and then have a gray eared hood and sleeves attached?

That would solve so much stress. I was actually thinking of taking grey and black wig clippings to make a salt-and-pepper colored beard, but that sounds much, much easier.

I thought about putting the shirt over the hoodie, but I felt that it would be...I dunno, tacky? I know tacky is right up Curt's alley in style and all, but I've worn tshirts over sweaters to cover up the logo on the front and it just feels weird to me when I do. But I guess it would suit him better.

Are there any gijinka designs of him or actual cosplays of him? That might help me narrow it down.

Also debating on whether to get a grey wig to match his fur or a black wig to match his beard.

Kapp'n cosplay update. I'm being kinda casual about this, i'm not as serious a cosplayer as I'd like to be yet.

Small problem on the shirt. A solid blue hawaiian shirt with white flowers would run me like 40 bucks. My options are a blue one with white flowers that happens to be like 3 sizes too big (XXL) from a thrift shop

or a blue one with orange flowers from a store.

Would it be terribly wrong with me to go for not having a three-size-too-large shirt over the right color flowers? Or am I making too big a deal out of this?

I need some opinions on this fabric. I got it for doing an Isabelle costume, but it's more white than her vest actually is. Would it be possible to dye it and make the white parts more green, or would it wash out the rest of the pattern? It's poly cotton (65% Polyester 35% Cotton). I've never dyed anything before.

Does anyone know if the diving trick to getting your villagers to suggest more public works projects really works? Today Isabelle just confirmed that I hit perfect town status, and I'm going to change my town hall into a fantasy sultan palace thing. I wanna replace my benches, bridges, etc. with the other ones in the fantasy series but you have to get like villagers with all different personality types to suggest them.

I made a base of craft foam and wrap/glued wefts of hair around the base then brought it into the middle and glued.. I used the red ribbon to cover the gluing and then I attached wig clips to the base so I could remove it and reuse the base wig in the future.

I will probably remake in the future but I dont have enough time now to.. I leave for a camping trip on saturday and I dont return until the 6th of August... and then otakon!!

Seagulls, I come to you with a dilemma because you guys seem like gurus when it comes to Animal Crossing.

A couple weeks ago, I got a used 3DS and the new Animal Crossing. The 3DS did not come with an SD card. I didn't care at the time, so I started playing AC right away.

A few days ago, I got the QR code machine in my store and I scanned a few QR codes. I had to erase and write over one of the premade designs that you access from the menu (like the carpet sample, the three plaid patterns, the train, etc) to save them.

Then my friend came over and showed me the massive collection she had of QR codes. She had a closet full of them, ABC with 6 pages each, all full of codes.

When I asked her how she had so much space and I didn't, she said it was because of her SD card. So I got an SD card.

But, when I go to use the QR machine, I still have to overwrite one of the designs. I don't have the same storage space that my friend has for the codes. I think the game, or at least, my save file, doesn't realize the SD card is there.

How do I start saving QR codes to the SD card? Do I have to restart my Animal Crossing game?

I'm considering making a giant mascot suit of Tom Nook, and I wanted to give things out as gifts. What would be recognizable?

I thought making plushie bells/coins/bell bags, or maybe leaves? Or the fruit...I want to give out a variety of objects to other con-goers, but I'm not sure which ones are best. The leaf is most recognizable, but it's so 2D! How would I make it look good? And the fruit seem pretty recognizable and 3D-able, but I don't know.

On an unrelated note, anyone have peaches/coconuts/persimmons? I've got everything else. I also have perfect oranges, if you want those for trade.

Yeah, a school printer or even just kinko/copier a lot of it. Of course they'd want to test the copies to make sure the qr codes work right.

Also I figure make the little leaf bags with coins and give them out to their favorite cosplayers and give out the qr codes as general nice con gifts.

Actually, I just realized, they could totally make a bunch of little letters and put the QR codes inside, and put a little giftbox sticker on it to seal the envelope. Like how you get gifts in the game.

So I plan on doing a human version(gjinka?) of Katrina, and I was wondering on what sorts of fabrics I should use.

I know that her outfit equates to a sari, so I was thinking of using sari fabric or something similar.

The other thing was going to be more for aesthetics but I thought of adding the gypsy style coin bells (there is a word for them but I don't know it) as well as constructing an actual tiara style using a resin gem for the center piece.

My last thought would be for a fortune teller style, I would create a Tarot deck based on Animal Crossing using characters and people.

Would that be appropriate for the cosplay?

Just a little hair fun I had the other day. :)

I plan on getting my hair lightened soon, but I was wondering if any one here had tips on how to get curls/volume to stay on very stubborn straight hair? I used a substantial amount of hairspray and this still only lasted for about 25 minutes.
