Been working on the ugliest goddamn pants in the world for the last couple days. Still fiddling with the fit some, but drop-crotch pants look fucking retarded no matter what so it's difficult to determine whether they're ugly in the right way or the wrong way.

On some level I kind of want to start over and just make them more normal pants (with the dumb pockets and contrasting colors), but I don't think I've got enough material for that. On the plus side, the waistband and whatnot fit well so the weight of the stupid cube strands doesn't make them sag and shit.

Been chipping away at the million things I need to do on my two dragon puppets. The form of the Terrible Terror is pretty much done, I'll probably be able to put his skin on next week, but I've only just started to work on the baby Nadder's head.

I spent all of Sunday with my dad and we figured out and cut out most of the pieces for two copies of John Doe's Guillotine Blade; one for my John Doe costume and one to hopefully be used as a Lucid Gadget by my bf (he's being a little wishy-washy about the cosplay right now).

Erika from Pokemon. Gotta add the design on the headband. I've added the Pokeball appliques since this picture though. I also need to finish the zipper in the back of the hakama because I got it mostly sewn on then my machine messed up and I lost patience.

I need to figure out how to make the hakama less poofy over my hips. I messed up the other one trying to get the pleats to stay down and just ruined it completely, so this poofy piece is hakama 2.0.

I think my hips are just too big and my waist too small in comparison ;.;

Had to tailor a top for my yoko cosplay. I thought I could just buy the bathing suit top and paint the flames on but I was SO wrong. tiny frame made the top of the triangle bikini stretch up more, so the top of the triangle was almost at my neck :c
Finished sewing that and sewing padding into it. Now working on the muffler.

For the actual catsuit pattern itself, you can probably just take in a free one online onto photoshop and use that.

Cast attempt part two! I would like to thank everyone from the last thread who didn't just straight up tell me I'm retarded, while I know this cast isn't perfect either, it is definitely much better than my last one!

Protip: You can cover craft foam in glue, gloss, and even resin conditioner and it's still going to explode when you try to cast in it so just don't do it. I didn't have anything else around to substitute and figured if I sealed it enough it'd be fine and I was wrong. I was very wrong.

So now my crown is a bit off center, but what the fuck ever looks so much better than my first attempt. Right now I'm following a tutorial's advice to coat the molded side with extra resin for a more glossy finish so it's going to cure for one more day. It's pretty heavy, I could probably bludgeon someone to death with this thing. Or at least give them a sizeable head wound.

That was my initial thought! But I'm terrified for.. many reasons. For one, not 100% certain the hot glue will be secure. For two, slightly worried the heat from the glue will warp the worbla in weird ways. And for 3... I'd have to wear the gloves as I hot glued them onto my fingers to get placement right. Not really looking forward to ridiculous burns on all of my fingers.

I'm thinking I might attach each of the finger pieces together with a strip of spandex (same color/fabric as glove) and then sew the spandex onto the glove on the ends or wherever I can. Not sure if that makes sense. Or if it would works.

tldr; has anyone used hot glue on worbla?

>> No.6936835

>>6936830

You could try drilling some small holes in the sides of the pieces and stitching through them to the glove fabric. Assuming you've got a dremel or something.

Alternately, maybe a rubber cement would be a better choice? It's flexible and usually holds pretty well (though admittedly I haven't tried it with this sort of application before), but it doesn't get hot like hot glue would.

Made some decent progress on the shirt. Shit's pretty wonky, especially in the collar, but the shape's about right. Still not sure how to handle the weird-ass darts on the front of the shirt. Current plan of attack is to just make the smallest seam possible, like a really tiny pintuck more than a proper dart (still don't know why the fuck there are boob-darts on his shirt, they don't do fuck all shape-wise).

Did a quick test with the tie and it's to big. On the plus side, that's a lot easier to fix than it being too small.

At any rate, the shirt's almost there. I hope I have enough material for the sleeves.

This is the only Maya progress I have to show right now since the bodysuit doesn't look very good without shape wear. This is the tattoo sleeve since I don't have enough time to draw them on due to a tiny slot allotted for changing.

Maybe you need to do your archive search more thoroughly. If you're really butthurt, you're welcomed to contact me directly. I've never scammed anyone. Had a few wigs that I didn't do my best on but I've always been fair to the clients if they talk to me directly,I even gave full or partial refund before. That one thread that ppl kept bringing it up, i never knew about it until later on when it's not active anymore. Wasn't on cgl 24/7 and friends who saw it never mentioned it to me. Already talked with Villetta wig client from that one thread that blew up. I refunded her in full and she apologized for posting in that thread. I don't want to disclose more than this because then a few ppl on here will just say that I'm trying to white knight myself. And I don't think I'm entitled to explain to every curious anon ever. You might be happy to know that I'm not taking any more wig commissions though.

hi anon, if you're still around, just to clarify- you used E6000 to connect worbla directly to fabric? I might pick up some and try it. Everything will just be so much easier if I can attach these directly to the gloves.

>> No.6938710

>>6938684
Yep exactly. I put my gluve on, put a ton of E6000 on, and held the worbla piece in place, let it set enough to not move to much (it doesn't take too long, depends on how much glue you put on). I then took the glove off to let the glue sit over night. Any glue that went through the fabric, just pealed off. It's not like instant super glue which hardens instantly.

I didn't have one piece fall off all weekend, and I was carrying a staff and shield. I'm sorry I don't have any pics of the my gloves otherwise I'd put them up.

I tried the hot glue, and it didn't hold the worbla well at all. I didn't think the E6000 would work, but my hand pieces were much like yours.

Looks cute so far! What did you do with the bottom of the bloomers? I feel like it would look better if they were a bit poofier, did you put elastics in them? Also I think there should either be hair accessories matching the scarf, or a sort of hood coming up from it. Lastly, I think the gijinkas always look cuter when they've got cute little details, like lace trim on the bloomers, or a bow on the shirt, wings on the shoes etc. I have lots of Charlotte gijinkas saved if you want me to drop a couple.

I'll have at least two layers under it so I don't think it'll be an issue comfort-wise. The main issue is just that they're purely decorative seams and real darts would change the shape pretty drastically. I don't think the character designer knows how seams work. Dragon 1 (left) needs his wings finished and his skin, but he's getting close to completion. Got a lot of work done on Dragon 2(right) today. She'll be a marionette and alas cannot stand up on her own, but I'm pretty happy with how she's turning out otherwise.

oh man it was deceptively complicated. I really didn't like any of the other Seri's I saw online. Here is the copy/paste from my ACP
Jacket: Heavily modified Cosmode Blazer. I folded down the front of the lapels to make the diagonal collar line that I would sew in later. and the zipper is sewn down the front. The black is just a slpliced panel. all the extra shapes are just geometrics covered is bias tape and interfacing. The blue is Dark blue twill suiting, the black and purple is cotton. All the white pieces are just bias tape
Skirt: Simplicity pencil skirt pattern with the color blocked panel put in and bias tape top stitched over that seam. Different blue cotton used here since it looked like there were actually 3 shades of blue in her uniform. I need to fix more waist bunching here.
Flaps: My favorite part of the costume. Rectangles were cut out and heavily interfaced. Well actually they are more like super loing trapzoids. Her "Mercedes" Symbol was made in photoshop and printed on an iron on transfer. The silver parts are all cut out of vinyl and heat n' bonded to the flaps. I took extra care to measure the angles but I still messed up a little. The bias tape was then sewn on top with mitered edges
Boots: Made stockings to look like thigh highs with leather look lycra and skin colored material. They are worn over heels from Payless

So uh, I'm mostly done with my costume now? I need to repair my friend's kimono in a few places, make my obi and a false collar and then I'm totally done. I sure am glad I've seen the character wear women's kimono as overcoats before.

Ahahaha noo I'm so unfortunate looking, I don't ever want to self post. It'll be a while before I can completely finish it I guess since I do want to make his long haori, but I have to wait until the place I got my fabric from gets a long ro weave bolt in stock that I can afford. Time to start checking the site daily. I also want to buy different obi fabric (my obi fabric also wound up being rust colored instead of blood red... oops.) and see if I can't get a cheap gray men's kimono that's already made and hope that there's enough excess fabric tucked into the lining that I can lengthen it because I do not want to hand sew another kimono if I don't have to. I am too tall for all of the existing men's kimono which is why I decided to make my own semi-traditionally. It was a bad idea and I had no idea it would be so intensive.

I'm so excited for all of the Natsume stuff happening at AX, I'm gonna scream.

Hi, I'm the poster of the wig. Sorry for the late response, I got sucked into some video games.
It's not just tinfoil, and I'm sorry if the picture made it look like that. I made a wire base in the shape I wanted, then I stuffed it with... well, stuffing! The kind that would go in teddy bears. I wrapped this in some plastic cling wrap and taped and smoothed it down. Then I added the tinfoil layer, because the hot glue I used to add the second wig (which I had cut up) would probably melt the plastic wrap.
The hair blended together well not only because it's the same color fiber, but also because I glued in the new hair in the same direction. Then I just combed it out.

The progress thread is usually an encouraging place (outside of isolated instances of attention whoring and flyby douchebaggery, and anons occasionally picking on trips for no good reason.)

Something like 10 days to con and this is all I've got so far. I didn't realize how long it would take me to put like 10 layers of gesso on everything and sand it down. Took me until today to realize how much faster it was to wet sand the gesso.. I feel stupid. The untainted pieces still need a few more coats and a good sanding, and instill need to attach all the belts, add in the shading and details, etc. I hope I can speed sew because this is moving at a snail's pace.

On the bright side, the nickel spray paint color is really pretty!
