I'm not going to post a pic but I have "bettie bangs" and sort of a mess of tossled curls in the back that I can't even pull up anymore after one of those "let's go scissor crazy and chop off all the length" moments so would it be best to maybe tie it back in a bandanna till it grows back? It's growing "outwards" right now as most curly hair unfortunately does.

>> No.6910719

Are there any cute haircuts for short hair? Those ponytails and long hair just look terrible on me.

Also, what about hair colors? Are you dying your hair or would you rather use wigs?

>> No.6910934

>>6910719
depends, are you willing to commit to a colour? And do you want to wear it everyday? I mean if its once a week kinda thing, and you dont want a commitment with a colour, then get a wig

but if you find wearing wig/styling it everytime/and all the jazz troublesome then just colour your hair

hope i make sense

>> No.6910940

>>6909292
Or maybe you can style it to your liking. I mean, anyone can look okay/good in anything as long as you style it.

How short is your hair really?

I don't like wearing wigs that much, because I feel very self-conscious about it. Dying my hair doesn't seem like such a problem though. I always wanted to try some of those colors that got a kind of gray touch. Black or Red for example, or like in that pic OP posted. I don't know how to pull it off though. Is it a special hair-dye or do you have to use a certain shampoo?

I dunno why I even typed that thing out. I really can't do anything with it and am just going through a "growing out" period. I have been wearing it in a bandanna after all so just a few more months till its at least shoulder length ;_;

>> No.6911292

I have side bangs and long hair below the shoulders. My SO likes my hair long so I wanna keep the length, but I wanna do something mori kei (with my dark violet hair). Any suggestions?

I think braided hair like in the picture would look pretty cute with violet hair! Or maybe you could just keep it simple and make them look wavy or curl your hair. But you should keep it natural so it doesn't look too flamboyant. I think that would destroy the whole mori image. If you find your hair to plain and simple you could also go for hats or accessories. Then you don't have to do anything complicated with your hair, it still looks quite long and you can use a huge variety of different hair accessories that fit your outfit!

>>6911292
you could braid it loosely in a fishtail braid, or leave it mostly loose/wavy (if your hair isn't naturally curly or wavy, then leave it in tight french plaits overnight and it will be!) with scattered small braids

I never learned how to do my hair (pic related). The fibers are average thickness but I have a ton of hair, as in too thick for a single braid to look good. My natural texture is about a 3a, but since I've grown it out (it's past my waist right now) it's more of a 2c. I'm happy with my natural colour, I've never attempted nor want to dye it.

As you can see, I wear lolita, and I feel somewhat guilty that I have this "raw material" I can't seem to work with. The only things that I'll do to it is either straighten (I own a GHD flat iron which I'm in love with) or braid it to change the texture (in the pic I made loose braids to soften my natural curls). I can also do heatless ringlets, but that's all I can do, leave it down. Every time I try doing even a simple high ponytail it slides down because it's too heavy. Twin braids look good on me tho, I tend to wear them with berets during the winter. What do /cgl/?

>> No.6912226

Any hairstyles suiting fine, fair Scandinavian hair? It's too slippery to just put up in a ponytail as it always does that bumpy thing or slides out.... Also suffering from a lack of volume and body. Doesn't hold a curl very well. Things with fringes are nice?

Side braids, side buns/loose ponytails, tie your hair into a headbow, a braid across the top of your head, or the 'Heidi' twin braid buns style etc etc....? Tried any of these?

According to Google, a side braid is either braiding all your hair to one side (and the resulting braid is way too thick, I'd rather wear two) or braiding from the roots, which I can't figure out for the life of me. I've tried every single tutorial I've come across but I somehow mess it up horribly. The hair headbow doesn't really suit my features or my style (primarily Gothic), but maybe I should check out the buns.

I still remember when a friend passed me this tutorial ("it's the easiest of the easy Anon! you can do it!") and still got nothing that looked like it after two hours of trying. I'm this terrible with hair.

I don't understand what happens to the back braid in 6 and 7... Does she plait it into the side braid?

This is my problem with most of these hair tutorials. They seem to skip something, or just don't explain well enough, and to someone who is completely clueless like me, it makes everything harder.

Does anyone know why they curl their hair for these things? I never really understood..

Also I could look through some magazines maybe they got some nice pictures of haircuts as well. Might post them tomorrow or something.

I think it's supposed to make any hair that might stick out of the braid curve gently instead of sticking straight out.

this is correct.

I have a Romanian friend with the same hair problem. She has hers long now, and the fine/slipperyness actually, surprisingly, suits fishtail braids so nicely.....out of curiosity before I suggest anything, how long is yours now? Or pic if possible?

I don't understand the picture you posted but, what i meant was pic related. just tie a braid but to your side only.
start simple, tie a braid here and there and play around with them, eventually you can probably try that picture your friend sent you...though i'm not even at that level myself. if she is your friend IRL ask her to teach you?

If you can find Chokichoki Girls scans, I'd say check that one out. every issue there are 6 hair cuts for short hair and 6 for bobs with a "Cool v Sweet" theme. Most of them though are for permed hair/curly hair.
