So, fellow britfags. What are everyones planes for the summer? What's the next con we should be getting hyped for?

>If this thread gets shat up like the last one it's going in the bin too. Keep the drama on FB or between yourselves unless it's new shit - rehashing old drama is trés lame. The drama llama is watching.

Am gonna try and go to October MCM, I enjoyed May and the meetup

Gonna try and put a Rex Power Colt cosplay together

>> No.6896088

Back to the actual thread at hand, anyone entering Euro Cosplay at Ayacon? Know of any one who is?
What about the usual suspects?

>> No.6896092

Damn the trolling I did against Ai Honey was great and better that another anon was in with it too. Also OP it is "plans", not "planes".

Now for a more relevant post I intend to go to the next MCM in October and would look forward to the meet too. I'm not sure if I will cosplay though.

>> No.6896108

All that's left for me this year is Ayacon, most likely. I was going to, and might still, go to Oct Expo since May was so fantastic for me, but due to a sudden bad economy I'm probably gonna have to skip it and wait again till next May and just spend the remaining of this year flying over to british cosplayer friends privately instead. ;_・

This con-season started off terribly with Gemu, so I intend to make the absolute best of Aya though and am really really looking forward to it.
And on that note, for the seagulls who didn't get a badge for Aya, you can still make it. There are 12 spaces left!

Cosplayplans are characters from Madoka, Sexy Commando, Corpse Party, and one last thing I haven't quite decided yet. Probably a re-wear or Lain or Nichijou.

Kellys panel was painful. I hadnt intended to watch it as i think she a vapid oxygen thief but there were free seats at the back and I was tired. She had this weird forced american twang in her accent and she insisted on raising her voice at the end of every sentance as if she was asking a question. How anyone was able to listen to the whole thing without commiting hari kari I have no idea.

As for the rest of LFCC. Mostly costuming groups who take themselves too seriously "parading" doing the same poses. The event was awash with fat madelorians, jedi, and colonial marines. "Aren't you a little fat for a stormtrooper" ended up being used far too much.

She did that at the masquerade and the cosplay cruise too. I guess that's just her unfortunate voice. Or maybe she thinks it's some kawaii bullshit. Was it just me or did it lok like she was about to piss herself all through her panel? Girl kept swaying from side to side. She's nice to look at but she should never be allowed near a microphone or a stage.

Sadly this happens far too often with con guests.

But then again, noone's interested in a panel with some uggo on it regardless of how knowledgeable they might be.

LFCC was pretty good, although there were not as many cosplayers as i remember there being in the previous years.
The maids were annoying as fuck with that bow though. The arrows hotting the board they had was ridiculously loud for some reason and the arrows kept flying into the booth I was in.

Did anyone go on the cosplay cruise? It was... pretty bad. The band they had was terrible, the vocalist was horribly out of tune, and it was just so loud that most people ended up leaving the room they were performing in because it was too painful. It also was bad that the vocalist completely ruined the birthday surprise by announcing it early. It was nice to catch up with friends though. I wish they had the karaoke again, that would have been fun. Drinks were overpriced, as expected. Yet still quite a few drunk people rolling around.

You're confusing 'crying' and 'making fun of you'. I like to give the dumbest fucks attention because I'm sure you're not getting it elsewhere.

And 'fishing' is applicable usage. If you are complaining about the way someone talks, you are REALLY scraping the barrel to find something to moan about.

>>6960625
I didn't ruin anything. I announced it when I was supposed to, just the candles blew out and the girl had to go back and relight them.

The cruise wasn't set up at all for a band. There were no feedback monitors and no mixing desk. The speakers had to be turned towards me so I could hear (and I could barely hear anything) which is what was causing the mic's to screech.

I'm not sure why the setup was that bad, but yeah I was pretty grumpy about it as well. However you are exaggerating as I saw very few people leave the room, about as many people came in as left (and several people shouted for us to play Black Sheep again at the end). SO BOO-URNS TO YOU.

I managed the best with what I had and I'd like to see anyone else try. Since two people asked me to play at other events afterwards I can only assume we weren't that awful.

I didn't see anybody leaving. But I didn't see many people entering to begin with, either. Before the weekend they were saying it was close to selling out but there was like what, 40 people, maybe? I don't know why the bothered with the band and DJ when everybody obviously wanted to stay outside and there weren't enough people to fill one deck, let alone two.

I think the guy's birthday got spoilered way earlier in the evening anyway when a bunch of girls were singing happy birthday to him like an hour into the evening.

Yeah.. it was a boat made for holding 600 people and there were only 180 (I also thought it was less than that too but supposedly that is accurate). We were also playing exactly when the sunset was so everyone was outside preoccupied with getting sunset pictures, Lol.

I will say that what the anon said before about karaoke would have been a good idea (which they had before?). There wasn't really much for people to do otherwise. It really wasn't a great set up for a band, since they are missing some really basic gear needed for it (and not the sort of stuff bands are expected to bring with them). If I had known I would've organised doing an acoustic set instead, alas.

I am genuinely sorry if we were too loud and drove any people out, I can assure you I was disappointed by it more than anyone else. But I did my best. :/

That being said it's a learning curve running events so they're things that can be focused on to improve next time.

Wish the 'sexy cosplay girls' shit would just die already. None of them have been cosplaying long enough to know much about it and most of them wear next to nothing thus not really qualifying as wearing cosplays.

There are far better cosplayers who I would have preferred to hear from. In the end, I didn't bother with any of the cosplay panels at all.

As to LFCC itself I actually preferred it to Expo. Not so many weebs with 'free hugs' signs and the level of cosplay in my opinion was better.

Tell me about it. "Sexy cosplay girls/guys" is just one big circle jerk for a bunch of attention whoring douche bags with superiority complexes. >Not so many weebs with 'free hugs' signs and the level of cosplay in my opinion was better
I didn't see anything that blew me away like some people bring out for Expo, but the lack of twats makes the overall standard a little higher. I think if the panels and masq weren't organised by AL and hosted by SCG then you'd see the quality jump higher than Expo could ever hope to reach. There's only so far you can go when your main attractions are filled with the most hated scum in the community.

>None of them have been cosplaying long enough to know much about it
All of their panels were them jizzing over their recent discoveries of worbla and the few questions they were asked none of them were able to answer properly. The best advice Stacey, Kelly or Tabitha could come up with through all their panels was to go to youtube for guides and copy what the internet tells you. Tabitha actually admitted on stage that it helps if you have a dad who can do shit for you.

It is though. There are hundreds of porn sites out there which revolve around costumes. One Google search is all it takes to find multiple videos of little asian girls dressed as Yoko Littner getting the life fucked out of them.

People like wanking over hot girls in costumes. Deal with it.

No, but to be at all outraged by it is like being surprised when someone who is obese turns up. It's part of the whole deal and always has been.

I'd love for a less negative group to take their place but there really isn't anybody else around that has enough people and attention to fill the same space. People who are simply genuinely good don't build themselves up to be con guests.

Mine was a 'cosplay for beginners' panel, it was meant to be general and basic. I didn't speak a large amount about worbla since I've never used it (though I've used other thermoplastics) or mention YouTube tutorials..

There are a couple of things I wanted to do I couldn't really do at LFCC in the end. I've done this panel like 5 times now, but I could do with more things to do on a panel environment since it's meant more for an accompaniment to workshops.

Whilst Taby's Dad taught her it makes you look jellymad to assume she has no talent. I didn't see their panel, but they're both new to it.

Some of the girls are not directly affiliated to SCG and they were not asked to organise anything either.

Don't project your own opinions. Nobody said she had no talent. The fact that she said her dad helps her was merely stated. If you think that equates to saying she is talentless then that says a whole lot more about what you think of her than what was actually said.
