I didn't really notice, but I guess that just means they are in a bit of a decline. There were more panels and shit dedicated to it than last year though. I sat next to some homestuck fan girls during the costume competition. The screaming from them was irritating, but I couldn't really be mad at them as the girl to my immediate right had cutting scars all over her arms and I was filled more with pity than anything.

It was a lot of fun guys. There's lots to complain about, and lots to praise. Overall it was a pretty fucking awesome weekend of escapism. Those of you that I met or saw once again were fucking rad as always. Guy with all the belts that was super friendly at the meet, slendy, Big boss, and all you other people were fucking rad. Contest started on time which was nice. A-Kon messed up Detail to Perfect's audio who promptly threw a bitchfit and left. Some crazy chic in the green room screamed HOLY SHIT THEY LEFT BECAUSE A-KON FUCKED UP THEIR AUDIO. THEY WERE PISSED. when their award was announced which is why they weren't there to accept it. She scared the shit out of the rest of us in the green room with her psychotic outburst and security told her to stfu. The green room was nice and had a video screen.

If you ever met James, you'd know that wouldn't matter. This is the same guy that for 2 years promised the convention would come back and that it wasn't dead, even though most of his staff told him there was no way they could continue. The reason 2011's YuleCon was so bad was because he purposely told his staff to cut back on all spending but make the con appear just as big as the prior year, and said on numerous occasions that he hoped people would spend money on a bad year expecting it to be as good as 2010s, just so he could have enough money to make up for it in 2012. Half his staff quit and he still ran the con making the other staff do twice the work.

I can't speak for what they said, but as far as telling James about it and giving him feedback, it didn't matter. He would happily and openly admit that the only reason he runs conventions was to make the most money he could, and didn't care much for the audience he catered to.

There were auditions before the con for VO Idol due to time constraints and because at the first con it was run, we had allowed on-site auditions. They did not go well at all. No matter how many times you go over rules, people just don't pay much attention.

We did try to get the word out about auditions as best as possible. Unfortunately, the A-Kon change of website is just terrible. There are no legit forums either which has caused all kinds of problems for just about any and all panelists.

I had the PR team post reminders on their social media outlets, but it seems they tend to get missed too. I'm sorry you missed out and we would have loved to have you. We will try to get the info out as much as possible for future cons.

No is trying to kick you out of Ani-Idol. It was actually a weird year for contestants. Some contestants who have have done incredibly well in the past, just didn't bring their normal 'A Game' as it were. There could be any number of reasons for that plus in the Advanced division judges are very nit-picky since you're the top performers essentially. Don't get discouraged you do have a great singing voice!

I had a blast. I had not been to Akon since Akon 21 and I remember leaving it thinking anime conventions were on their way out as it seemed that attendance peaked and then started going down every year. This year it was huge and I loved seeing that. I was drunk from the moment I walked into the con till the moment I left. Met some cool people. I felt like a kid again at the first con I went to when I was like 14. Rave was total trash as the music was not good and it was WAY too quite. I should not be able to talk to people so easily in the rave. More drugs being available would have been appreciated. The DJ was a dick I actually met him as we were wondering the hallways looking for people the party with and we ran into him. I said good job "even though I thought he sucked" and he just gave me the most dick look. The hotel was super nice and having the park was such a plus as we just danced and partied outside on Friday till like 4 in the morning. I really didnt make it to the panels so I could not really give an opinion on that. I was on the 11th floor so I was taking the stairs the whole weekend so I feel sorry for you guys that you were on higher floors. I dont know what the con or hotel could do to help with that, but some of you people stand a nice walk up and down the stairs. Parking was shit. Lack of food was rough until I found out there was food trucks. I actually really liked the bar, made some good mojitos. They were dicks Saturday cutting everyone off at 130. I thought there were some great costumes. Anime Hell was hysterical and some how I ended up in the Hard Gay competition(which I think I should have won but w.e. it was fun) and that was something I had never done before. So I give it a 9/10 the only thing that could have made it better for me was getting there Thursday and leaving monday to cure my hangover and hopefully had rolled my balls off at some point. I met some great people and went with some great people so maybe that is what made it all.

The reason the left leg looks wonky is because it's at a slight angle and the person is wearing heels. So what looks like some sort of bizarre tumor on the left side is actually a heel.
