Hey /cgl/

Have any of you tried experimenting with a new style? Launching your own kind of style perhaps?

I am personally in love with the whole Vintage Russian aesthetic and want to incorporate it into my wardrobe. I do Casual Classic and Mori Lolita along with 1940s through 1960s, so I think it'd fit very well somewhere in the middle.

Matryoshkas are my inspiration, of course.

That might be a pretty neat print, especially the colors, if done right.

You don't need to bump here, it's slow.

Kind of, but I'd like to make it more adult, which could mean it'd look a lot like traditional Russian clothes mixed with a Fairy Tale aesthetic. Tea and ankle-length skirts, capes, hair covering accessories, etc.

Very much like what Ulyana Sergeenko designs.

In my opinion, dolly kei is far too eccentric and doll-esque for the kind of style I want to pull off.
I mean, the fit I'm posting right now looks great, simple, clean lines and even the fur hat is perfect for the look.
I guess it depends how far you want to take the look. I do high heels and nipped waist dresses, which dolly kei doesn't seem to incorporate a lot.

There are a lot of midi dresses and maxi skirts in shops lately so have a look and you're bound to find something. The alternative is thrift shops so just keep your eyes out.

Once autumn/winter hits I'm sure you're bound to find something too.

I usually dress in the himekaji style but lately I've been really interested in cult party. I've been collecting a lot of pieces and making coords but I've yet to wear them out. I think I'm going to wait until Fall so I can do a bit more research. That and all those layers in the summer heat can be really unforgiving.

When it comes to textiles, I guess we shouldn't stray too far away from the general preference of seagulls.
For summer, I say chiffon and lightweight fabrics. We can also have knits, of course, for windier weather.

I'm surprised that nautical themes are being presented for /cgk/-kei (or whatever) because I haven't seen a large presence of these themes here unless in specific threads. Maybe it's because a lot of people here like sailor collar styled pieces, like in seifukus?

whenever summer rolls around my appreciation for dark blue comes back... sashiko and fishermen stuff, scales, with some teal/seafoam colors in there.
in general i like fallout/wasteland/survivalist type clothes as loose dresses mixed with forest themes and bits. somewhat like a rough mori/natural kei. clothes that look like someone who lives in a forest makes them. in summer i just get kind of ocean fixated but not related to sailor stuff.
experimenting wise, i'm thinking about making some lolita-ish dresses related with the things mentioned above.
