I do but I don't always draw lolis. I also rarely draw anymore in general. Lolita-themed drawings that I have done before are usually based based on real dresses; I should get more creative.

Can anyone recommend any artists who do kind of goth-y style stuff?
I want to commission something really small for my business cards, but I'm not sure where to begin looking.

Pic sorta related, but doesn't have to be this exact style. I like black and white drawings.

there's nothing wrong with doing that. digital tools serve to speed up the process of creating graphics.
also, many clients don't care that you flipped it over, if it looks good and is presentable they'll still pay you to do it if you produce work quickly.

Except, you know, it hinders actual skillbuilding. If you keep doing that sort of shit, you're going to be fucked if and when you don't have the liberty to just draw one half and then flip it over to look like a complete piece.
I don't know, I probably sound like a typical /ic/ cunt but IMO it's a better idea to learn how to do something (even if it's slow, at least you actually figure out how to do it and won't even need to use a "quick method" in the future) rather than use shortcuts and never actually learn because "its just quicker lol xDDD".

I'm not sure why, but it really bugs me when a shitty artist refers to their drawing as a 'piece'. Like that word should be reserved for a finished piece of art by someone who knows their shit, not some lopsided animu scribble drawn in your notebook during math class.

Thank you! I usually use PaintTool SAI for the overall stuff and let PS do the finishing.

I wanted to learn digital painting stuff but I failed multiple times because I don't know how to blend colors. Maybe I should learn how traditional paint works first..

I draw a lot. This is a more cutesy style I use, but it's the most recent lolita-like thing I've done. I'm working with a lot of watercolours right now, and trying to start selling, but I can't into self advertisement so that's slow going. lol.

I need to get a better image of these, I think. The only black on this is in the gas mask and parts of the fox stole, lol. But this is meant to be a 'dirtier' piece. I'll properly scan it and show as soon as I have access to a scanner.

thank you! I have a few more but the ones that are finished are either kind of badly done or not very interesting. these are some w.i.p.s, though.
I'd also maybe eventually enjoy designing some tights one day. I like drawing flowers.

Any opinions on the banner contest this month? I'm really starting to hate those badly drawn faces the majority have, but I didn't think this month was so bad. I swear I've seen the last one before even though it is pretty bad, like I've seen it in a magazine years ago. The eyes seem too much of a straight line to be drawn by such a beginner.

I'm the original anon that asked, I don't really have anything against people doing it, but it just really annoys me when they don't change the lightning in the eyes after flipping it. The light spots should be on the same side on both eyes. Kinda like this.
