I think she's been upping her makeup game. Not sure what her technique was for her Royal Milk Tea and earlier cosplay, but I always felt her makeup made her face look really weird. She looks best with less on imo.

I really like her wig but now that you mentioned it? Maybe it just needs to be a bit more frizzy than tight curls.

The only other thing off putting is her doll default face. She's beautiful, yes, but Merida has a lot of facial expressions and life. I wish Angela would smile more.

So about face characters,

I went to Disneyland Paris last week (haven´t been there since I was 3 years old) and I was really looking forward to meeting all the mascots and face characters because I admire them alot. But I felt kinda uncomfertable waiting for a signature and picture with all the little kids. I kept letting the kids go first but I got a lot of ugly stares and comments from pushy moms.

So I waited at the Walt Disney studios park at the time a lot of characters would gather there to get a hug and picture with Stitch, since he is my favorite disney character. But that kinda dissapointed me. He was only interacting with Lilo and just running around, while a bunch of kids and me just followed him calling his name to get his attention. I know it's fun when a mascot is in character but for god's sake he couldn't just stand still for 1 minute to even give a little kid a hug.
So finally I got his attention, he just grabbed my signature book, scribbled his name in it without looking at me, ''Stitch would you like to take a pict..'' and he run of again.

So my day was going a bit downhills thanks to that. My parents fight alot with eachother, and they were also in a bad mood because they got annoyed that it took so long with the characters.

But then I spotted Ariel and got really excited. I ran towards the crowd but ofcourse there were a lot of little girls so I just waited, but some moms kept pushing their childs infront of me and glared at me. I just wanted to wait politely because I didn't want to ruin a child's interaction with Ariel, but my parents got angry at me being too polite and they left with the camera.
So I paniced and chased my parents but started crying because now I wouldn't have a chance to meet Ariel.
But then my little sister ran off and pushed herself through the crowd, found out Ariel speaks my language (Dutch) and told her what happened. Then she pulled me back into the crowd but I was very hesitant because I felt really embarrased because I was crying.
Then Ariel greeted me and called me princess, and asked me about my day. It was just so sweet, she looked perfect and she had such a nice soft voice.. We had a small convo but I was just so suprised by everything that I could barely responce. When we posed for a picture she said ''come, now smile'' everything in Dutch. I feel really silly about it but I felt really special that moment. I didn't even think it was a face character, everything was just so real. She didn't find it weird at all that adults are disney fans too.

Sorry about this long sobstory but I really wanted to share it because this is just why face characters are amazing

Pic is the same Ariel that I photographed at the parade the day before, I wanted to show it to her because she asked if I was going to the parade but I forgot..

Is it looked down upon to wear Disney cosplays to anime cons? I'm going to cosplay for the first time at a con in August, and my first cosplay idea was Shinku from Rozen Maiden. But since the con is in August I don't think it's a clever idea to do that and my second option was Tinkerbell. While I enjoyed Brave a lot, it seemed to lack the Pixar "spark." If anyone else had done it I would have considered it phenomenal, but since it was Pixar it fell a little flat.

Part of it though was the fact that I couldn't really find a character to root for. Even though Merida "grew up" so to speak, I found her utter lack of concern for her mom's health after giving her the potion pretty much unforgivable. The only character I really truly liked was the dad, but he didn't really appear in a context where one could root for him and follow him.
