Not sure why long is unpopular. I got it since I'm fairly tall and I'm worried the short will be too short.

With the way the dress is made and the pattern is arranged, you could get the long one and have it tailored shorter, but you can't make the short one longer.

The long JSK in grey went for $165 (I've only seen two sold. One was size L, the other size M). The long version of the skirt in grey is currently on sales comm for £125 (although the person is saying they only want trades and £125 seems expensive to me). I've not seen a short version sold, so I don't know how much that would go for.

If it's an out of stock size/color then yes, it could go for over retail. If it's still in stock, then it's less likely to sell at a higher price (although you can probably sell it for the cost + SS fee since generally you can't get it without an SS)

Not sure yet. But I measured myself against the measurements and I think it will be. I made a mistake by telling him I'm a large in China sizes (I never thought he'd buy me anything from there though lol). That's a lovely understated coord (I especially love the tights) but I can't help but wish you'd do something with your hair, or even try a 'natural' styled wig. Something with a bit of volume? I think perhaps I just feel an irrepressible need to be fancy, though; a wig would take awau from the simplicity and sophistication of this look as it is now, and if that's what you were going for you nailed it.

I think the most popular is ivory, closely followed by blue (ivory only more popular because it's easier to coordinate/fits in better into people's wardrobes). Red is the least popular, but it's not unpopular by any means. All three colorways work really well with this print.

Although I'm wondering if it's partly to do with how people are doing the lacing on the front of the dress. You know what, I'm in the same problem too. The more I look at the red, the more I want it. Oh my god, this thread could not have been better timed. My ivory and red short skirts arrived yesterday (!!!) and I am so so SO excited!

Thanks, and I haven't gotten my Bhiner shipment in yet (which contains a few lolita blouses) so I haven't tried it with anything underneath. It looks OK with my arms down, but it gaps out under my arms and the bodice gaps quite a bit, though it can't really be seen from a straight on photo like the one I linked.

I should get the stuff from Bhiner in a few days and I've got a padded push-up bra as well, so I'll see how well it fits then before trading/altering.

I got the long medium red JSK and as I mentioned it's both a little long on me and a bit big. However, I can get it shortened and tailored a little smaller.

That's my logic anyway. I might try to trade mine though since I've never had anything tailored before and I'm worried about how good of a job they'll do.

Just got my blue MC SK and it's beautiful. It's a bit too big for me, which makes me sad. I was thinking about putting a couple safety pins by the elastic to give me a place to lace it up a bit.

I think a cream-colored (or, hm, ivory? the color of the blouse and tights) headbow would work better, too. The red from the dress may not stand out enough against the color of your hair.

The lace surprised me too. It's very definitely cream, though they made it look white in the stock pics.

People still coord it with white blouses pretty frequently though, so it might not be a lost cause? I'm sorry it ended up big on you too though.

I'm swimming in random colored ribbons that I can use as hairbands, so I'll give that a shot, though the MC headband has quite a bit of the lace on it, so it shows up pretty well against my hair.

And no worries about the hair comment. I'm actually getting a nice long curly wig soon anyway. I somewhat miss having waist length hair now that I've cut it.

Yeah, it was a bit of a shock. But I'll try it with the white blouse I have coming, and maybe tea dye it if the fibers will take that.

The headband is also way too small for me, so I'm tempted to snip the bottom seams and put a larger headband in.

I'll try and post pics tomorrow, although I'll have to do up a really quick petti so it looks right.

Oh gosh I feel you on the headband. It's so small, but on me (especially with short hair) it's really overwhelming since it's pretty wide. I'll have to put off wearing it until I get a wig I think.

What's sad is that it's way too small even without a wig, so I'll almost certainly have to find a good sized one at Walmart or something. But the lace is definitely a bit wide, it reminds me of the old rectangle headdresses.

My head is huge though, and I have butt length hair, so I might be able to make it work.

I wear a size 4-6 normally and I'm always really unsure of what size to get when ordering from asian sites, it always seems to be waaay too small or I've overshot it. Is there anyone here who wears the same size who might be able to help? I just really want this dress.

4-6... US or UK sizes? The best thing to do is to take your measurements and compare it to the measurements given. Taobao stores generally list the bust-waist-hips measurements on the listing. Remember though, the measurements given will be the garment measurement, so you'll want to be under that measurement (e.g. if your bust is 88cm and the garment measurement is given as 88cm, then it won't fit or it will be incredibly tight. If the garment measurement is 92cm then it will be fine.)

And remember, every Taobao store will have different sizes for their Small, Medium and Large. For example, I'm a UK size 6, and Krad Lanrete size S fits me. But the shop that sold those Galazy seifuku, I had to get an XS size. Then there's other shops where I've had to buy an M. It just depends on the measurements.

I got my MC skirts in ivory and red last week and I can't get over how gorgeous they are. The photos just don't do them justice. I wore this to Big Wow Comic Fest last weekend and a whole bunch of people complimented me and wanted to know where I got it. I felt pretty!

This is my very first attempt at a coord, so I'd appreciate some feedback. I tried to go a little more otome-style, but this is my very first lolita piece and I don't have much in my wardrobe that goes with it. We'll see if these two skirts remain the only lolita pieces or if I'll get sucked in, because damn are they nice.
