I really, really, really don't see the appeal of that print at all. I guess I could make exceptions for some of the better coordinated outfits. I think the main appeal of it though is that it's a 'affordable' carousel print.
It kinda made me giggle back when people were comparing this to DDC.

This print. It was released recently and a few anons were gushing about it. Honestly I think it's ugly as fuck. Those rectangles just look so basic to me. Just kinda fugly over all, imo.

It's not that I really hate the print, but I fucking despise how the old release of Milky Planet's print looks so fucking washed out compared to the new release which is much more crisp/saturated, but how the construction and design of the new dresses are awful!

The JSK grew on me slowly, but all the main pieces for this series were so utterly basic with no trim or design other than the print that I can't believe the JSK and skirt sold out at the price they were asking. Such an utter ripoff. You could tell they spent all the money on the rights to the art.

I do remember IW was doing it as a collab with an art museum exhibit sponsored by the foundation still run by Mucha's family, which is why I originally figured they needed to buy the rights from them, but if it is public domain I guess not.

In that case, the plain designs of the pieces are even more inexcusable.

I just hate Merry Making party. I think the print and the colors look so bad together. And I've never understood the appeal of using alcohol in a print, it looks awkward to me.

and what's the point of your search? the same results show up if you include the "t", and "fantastic dolly" is the first result. I have never heard it referred to anyone in person as "fantasic," they've only ever called it "fantastic." it's not the true name, but it's the most common way people refer to it.

Toy Fantasy, print itself but especially the OP version.

I refuse to believe anyone anywhere can make this atrocity look halfway decent. Adorned with hideous overly long lace and rickrack it's like a wreck between itatastic ebay monster and nursery bedsheet. Maybe it could work as an ageplayer's fetish gear, but not a serious outfit.

Agree! The art is cute, but looks kind of weeby on a dress.

I used to hate Whip Magic, too. Then I snagged the black jsk and bow for dirt cheap on auction and they've grown on me. Something about the solid chunks of black and the bow on the chest tones it down and makes it a bit better. The pink colorways and the OP cut in general are gross, though.

Also used to hate Vampire Forest, then ended up with the Prima Donna JSK in Purple. Without the matching head bow, it's been a bitch to make a cohesive outfit with it and tie in all that weird purple, but it's a creative challenge!

I think I have a problem with buying the ugliest dresses in hopes of somehow redeeming them.

This is partially why I love whipped magic so much. Even though it's unabashedly over the top and bright and detailed, it's still relatively simple.

Whip Magic was my first brand dress, so I will always love it (Black version), it's just so much pop in the colors!

These are some of the prints i really dislike. And I usually love APs strawberry themed stuff, but those two are just ugh. And anything IW makes with puppies...

VR requiem and fantastic dolly in red for the same reason, they're that gross ketchupy shade of red that isn't elegant at all

sugary carnival, but only in the black colorway, contrast between black and lavender is too jarring - actually, this goes for all black x pastel prints AP has released

Dreamy Horoscope.
I seriously have no idea why people were shitting themselves over this print. The dresses are sacks, and the print looks like kid's bedsheets. It's not eye-bleedingly awful or anything but nothing about it looks remotely like a $300 dress.

i hate melty chocolate. i think it was because the replica came out right on its heels, so everyone was wearing it. but it looks so unbalanced- light-colored, delicate vertical stripes, and then a huge heavy bar of solid brown at the bottom. it's just so lazy and pedestrian.
i also really hate milky fawn, mostly because everyone is selling it right now and i am dying for milky berry, so i get all excited and then immediately disappointed.

-Anything with Easter eggs on it specifically and exclusively looks like a little kid's Easter dress to me.
- I liked Fruit Parlor when it first came out, but when it became Bodyline's first AP print replica, I got sick of seeing it.
- For the Moitie one, I don't hate the print itself, but I really hate the royal on white colorway regardless of what print it is.
- Other two items speak for themselves.

Prints I don't like:
- Chess chocolate: it looks really cheap and costumey.
- DDC: again, cheap and costumey. The print is too busy or something.
- Anything with stuffed animals/toys
- A lot of Moitie stuff. I think the general colour palette doesn't agree with me.
- Anything with diamond/harlequin patterns
- Vampire Requiem

I used to really dislike cinema doll but the ivory version has really grown on me so much that I want to buy it.

Having trouble thinking of prints I disliked off the top of my head, so I may end up posting more than once as they come to me.

I normally love everything Alice & the Pirates does, but this print was just so fucking ugly, to me. It was blocky and dense and poorly balanced. The whole thing just looks a mess and the cuts of the pieces (especially that vest/gillet) seemed awkward and poorly executed.

I feel like this could have been really cute if all of the pieces had been executed like the miniskirt, without that massive border print. The sudden colour change really cuts the skirt portions of the dresses into awkward proportions. So clunky.

And so far, the other prints I thought of have already been posted in the thread. The IW Mucha release was so utterly disappointing. The art-inspired photos they did for the Mucha mook release were gorgeous, but then the print just fell through by comparison.

(they would still be ugly on another background though).

I used to not find the print for Chess Chocolate that pleasant but my friend got me an AP brown and white bow necklace with pink and white pearls/beads for my birthday so I decided to get it since I found at a good price at an auction.

Getting it in real life, I've really grew to love it. I love all the details on it and the lace, and it matches the bow necklace perfectly. It's really busy though so I'm planning on making the rest of my coord really simple but so far, I've really brown to love it, especially since the dress fits me perfectly.

Not a print but I get real tired of seeing this ugly little bag plushie and any variation of it. I've seen a few owners who let the white ones get particularly dirty too and then they always look gross. Like something they got from the dollar store when they were four.
I'd rather see a simple teddy bear than this.

My theory is that they have a dartboard of motifs that include cute animals, fruits,flowers, fairytales, etc. They then throw two darts at the board to choose a new print design by combining the motifs (Jewelry Cinderella comes to mind). Usakumya appeared when they threw a dart at the motif board and got "bunnies" and "teddy bearts".
