It's totally acceptable, noone cares where is your gear come from as long as it looks good and fits into the game.
I mean I'm sure that there are elitist groups that would look down on bought equipment but that doesn't really count.
The important thing as I said is to fit into the game look cool and always upgrade your gear.

About that costume: I would advise to wear some kind of shirt and pants too but other than that it would be good

Oh - and I was thinking a mid-thigh / knee-length red undershirt you always see Greek / Roman soldiers wearing.
For comfort's sake I'd probably wear some UnderArmor compression clothes under my equipment where it isn't visible.

Damn, I even caught myself looking at weighted gloves, vests, ect to train in.

entirely depends on the game but most of the time the edge of the shield should have some kind of padding.

about the under armor padding: for leather armor it's not necessarily but if you wear one in hot weather the time until you sweat it trough will be kind of uncomfortable.

Just in case you'll still be monitoring this thread Hungarian LARPfag.

The guy from /tg/ with the Caffeine Commissar here, I'm wondering if you know any good websites for military surplus. I found everything I needed for the Commissar on a Danish site, but when I talked with my house mate about it, he mentioned that he once brought something from it that turned out to be crap, which has given me second thoughts.

The stuff I'm considering (picture attached for reference though I've posted it before in a /tg/ LARP thread) looks decent enough on the pictures, but if it turns to be crap, I might have wasted a metric shit tonne of cash - even if I am legally entitled to a refund within 14 days.

On a side note though, I've found and brought a gas mask that I like and it is absolutely perfect for the character - plus potentially cosplaying Death Korps of Krieg. It's a relatively modern model with the filter in front. On a side note though, I'm working with my friend on organizing a LARP for future seasons and we are considering asking you to proof-read our rules to avoid any loopholes. Is that okay?
We haven't written the actual rules yet, but we are going to use something called "Quark Basis Rules" as the template.

I'll take my chances. Shipping from Hungary to Denmark can't be more expensive than from the US.

Fallout rules MIGHT be useful, but we made the setting in mind that it should be equal parts Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. In essence the setting revolves around the September 26th incident leading to execution of the "Seven days to river Rhine" plan in 1983 (albeit we have had to take some liberties, the setting is still historically plausible).
