/co/ here, has anyone here ever tried speed dating on at a con?

>> No.6742849

No, it looks like an awful idea. They host that here, too.

>> No.6742864

The one time I gathered the courage to go to one it had been cancelled. I think that was a sign that I should never go to one.

I did and acted as the character I dressed up as (Kuzco). Still got numbers.

It was fun times when you dont take it seriously

did a lot of people show up?

>> No.6742946

I got asked to try it, but opted not to. No regrets.

Yes, during Fanime. I was in cosplay, too, though I wish I wasn't. I tried it out with my friend and we were matched up first. It was fun, but it's rare to find someone you click with. And the people in charge of the event would only give the other person's information if you were their top choice and vice-versa.

Seems fun so long as you don't take it to seriously.

I feel bad for people that go and expect everything to be perfect

There's apparently going to be a Supernatural speed dating thing at CTcon. I need to find out how to get in on that.

I don't know what I'm really expecting though. It'll probably just be fat people.

If I was single I think I would. Before I met my husband I was pretty desperate and used to do online dating. Funny thing was all the online dates failed and I ended up with a friend of a friend.

In '11 I was at NYCC and the line for the portfolio review was RIGHT next to the speed dating line, uuugggghhhhhhh nigga stop trying to talk to meeeeeeeee

Room was full (ALA) and there was a good mix of men and women

from the youtube videos I've watched of "geek love" shit, it seems like there's usually like, 4 or 5 actually normal looking people who are total social rejects with no knowledge of human to human interaction.

Might be worth it for those people but I can't say from experience. Personally I really wouldn't consider doing it but that could just be me.
