I left a blue slurpee stain on a BABY jsk for over a year probably two years. Its now brown and the blue came right out. I was afraid of the print bleeding, it didnt bleed.

my only regret is not having money to buy everything i want all the time

>> No.6732359

My regrets were ever buying anything from Bodyline.

God that place has shitty clothes.

>> No.6732362

When I first got into lolita, I wasted a couple hundred dollars on fabric, thinking I could sew my own things from gosu rori patterns. Turns out I was right, but the fabric I bought was absolute garbage (poly-cotton broadcloth blend and bedsheet thin prints from WalMart's discount fabric tables, thin raschel lace).

I never wore the skirts/dresses I made anywhere because I quickly realized the quality of the materials were severely lacking. They're still packed into the bottom of a trunk at my parents' place. Tempted to just give them to my niece for dress-up purposes.

>> No.6732366

I wore the antique clocks op from Bodyline in gray to a picnic once, and I guess the thing was so large on me (I picked the tallest size and I'm 5'3) that it made me look really stumpy. It was really hot outside but my makeup faired quite well, regardless I didn't get many pictures because of my frumpy outfit. Felt bad.

yeah its good for starting but soon as you buy your first brand piece you just cant go back. I bought the squirl birthday cake party because i love the print but im too embarrased to wear it because i know the quality is shit. I dont mind their blouses even though the sleeves are usually retarded because i dont feel bad sweating in them.

I get blouses from TaoBao (Dear Celine, HMHM, R-Series) for that reason. Cheaper than brand, usually nicer than Bodyline, don't feel bad if they get a bit of wear and tear, since I won't sell them later.

>> No.6732394

Are bodyline pieces that bad?
I own some brand and taobao pieces and some bodyline shoes which are pretty damn comfy.
But I love that military style jsk from bodyline and was just looking at other skirts/jsks to make the shipping worth it as i have some cash to spare, thinking against it now...

>>6732394
They're getting a LOT better. Still not up to par with brand/taobao but they're no longer ita central for the most part.

Just look closely at what kind of fabric & lace is used, see if you can find worn pictures online beforehand. Simple stuff.

>> No.6732406

>>6732394
I mean most of it is probably in our heads but there is a quality difference. the lace is really shiny and the print is no where near as detailed and bodylines colors are really in your face and not as soft as most brand. If you dont have a brand print and you buy bodyline you maybe wont care or notice but if you own a print and you look at how detailed it is its really hard to accept bodylines quality expecially since most dresses are like 50 or 60 bucks and you can get a brand skirt for that price in some cases. I found a used meta skirt for $30 its kind of basic but i can feel the difference. Its making me think twice before buying stuff from bodyline though,,,,

>>6732394
Some pieces are better than others. I wouldn't recommend most blouses, for example, but many of the dresses and skirts are more decent, and the shoes are good.

I own the OP version of that dress and the material is fine; the fit is a little strange in the bust, though. I've heard this is only a flaw in the OP version though.

>> No.6732413

>>6732394
in terms of value for money, a lot of the time yes
Although the quality has improved, paying $60 for an unlined dress with average lace and likely shitty zipper vs paying slightly more for high quality taobao items or second hand brand turns me right away.

As long as you choose carefully, not really. Avoid anything with contrasting lace, too saturated prints and more complicated designs.
I own Cecilia Carousel, Bunny Cinderella and Magical Cosmetics - they're nowhere near brand quality; print is blurry, colors are just okay, no lining or built-in petti. But the lace is decent, construction is fine and they're great for more casual comfortable wear.
Just be sure to NOT pay full price when items are new - they're not worth that much and in time they usually get much cheaper. All my skirts were from 27 to 33 bucks.

>>6732414
I'll try not to give you a generic response. The easiest way to put it is this: This is a kind of company that is out to make the maximum profit they can get off you for the absolute minimum cost.
Most dresses they post on their website are stolen photos, so you can bet on two things:
>1. They're ordering the dress for you from the original source and are scalping it triply
or
>2. It's a dress that they can no longer order from a different company/brand and so they commission seamstresses to make the dress for you. And the quality (if any) will depend on the fabric choices and skills of said people. Most of these dresses are not nice and are the monsters you've seen in reviews.

So even if you went with something "safe," something Milanoo cannot obviously make like rhs shoes, you still have to worry about the condition the shoes are in and the condition of the parcel that they arrive in. Milanoo is also known for sending out shoddy parcels because nice ones would be an extra cost to them.

That said: Milanoo is known for disappearing on customers who demand refunds, and for planting fake reviews to lure in more customers.

buying innocent world's blouses. Normal chiffon blouses are much more versatile and much cheaper. (apparently I look stupid in loli blouses).

>> No.6732652

Buying blouses from Anna House. Although I did a bespoke item, the armholes were too fucking small making it a huge pain in the ass to get on and off. It was the biggest waste of money ever. $80 for a blouse that has a terrible fit, holy fuck... Now I just make my own after finding good lace on Taobao.

Not really, but it depends on what you get. They won't be mistaken for brand, but for instance, I own pic related and it's really nice, even the lace it. But I also own the dessert military JSK and it's way itchy and the material is subpar. You really take some gambles with Bodyline. All the shoes I have from them are pretty awesome though.
