As you can see from pic related, no Korean would ever say the sentence like that. While they do have "오,예" for "oh, yeah" it's just used for transliterating English. And "한국말을 이해하시지요?" is the first dictionary phrase you get for searching "You understand Korean, don't you?" in Google. However, that you don't put those two together like that. That's why the only person on the entirity of Internet who has ever said it like that is this shitty troll, who's pretending to be a Korean supermodel and not an autistic neckbeard creeper.

This is just a normal boring contest were you do whatever the theme says, the judges pick a winner and said winner gets everything in the prize lot. In Jan we had our very first contest with a J-fashion theme and now the theme is Moe Kyun.

No weird questions or requirements. This is just for dress up and having fun to win physical prizes. The rules are strict about no PS and other basic stuff like taking clear photos.

Yes, one of the main purposes of this thread is to help contestants. They can post up pictures of possible hair styles or clothing they might want to wear for the competition and people in the thread give them advice.

Luna, one of the judges gives advice on how to fix common camera issues for better lighting in pictures and how to correct lighting in a picture.Of course we ask that ladies give constructive criticism and be mature. And surprisingly its been pretty neutral in the threads and Seagulls have been really helpful.

You can also discuss your favorite collage in here or suggest possible themes for next contest.

I'm a bit surprised to see so many schoolgirl outfits, I remember the huge brainstorming of ideas there was in the first thread, with things like "librarian moe" or "maid/meido moe".
Only the last two have chosen a different route (even tho I can't tell what kind of moe Pingu was opting for.. maybe Otaku?), for the exception of Ai who mixed maid and schoolgirl.
I agree that Eri's photos are too small, I can only see her face clearly in 1... maybe 2 pictures?
Pingu has been very creative but some of the photos look too similar
kit-tea is cute but there are too many sleeping photos
Eri has a cute theme, she has used the schoolgirl card yet she actually developed a story, but some of the photos are too hard to see properly
Doki Knight is cute and I really like her wig, but it feels a bit.. bland? Seen as she wore glasses I could have seen a more Meganekko type of moe
Ai could have done more different poses seen as she seems to chosen "tsundere moe"
Anna could have also done different poses, she has potential and the right accessories.
Gulper eel was the first one to post (right?) so kudos for that, seen as she seems to have difficulties with expressions she could have chosen a sort of "kuudere" moe

Thank you! My hair is shoulder length, haha. Yeah, sadly, a lot of my clothes are like 500 miles away, so I had to choose between this, a black pleated skirt, or a red plaid skirt. Do you think the black or red plaid would be better?

I was thinking of doing tacticool moe, but does that really exist? I think we're all choosing school girl because it's safe. I do have an alternative outfit, but it's just cute street style rather than a stereotype in itself. Might do yandere though, because why not?

I like the choice of setting! The red plaid skirt would look good if you have a tie to match it, otherwise I don't think it's a good idea. You could go with a kuudere moe type, though I'm not sure there is a stereotypical style of outfit to match so you'd have to convey it in another way. You're also allowed to use more than one outfit for your collage, so you can use both if you can't decide. I personally really like the idea of in school and out of school outfits for the schoolgirl characters.

Yeah, I live like half a block away from the school/tennis courts, so it's easy. Hm, I have a really huge gross shiny bow and a smaller black one, so maybe I'll try that. I feel like a lot of girls here are really expressionless in their pictures aside from Ai (who is adorable).

Definitely going to try yandere. I think I have a pretty good settings. Should I stick to things like knives, pens, etc and not use guns? I have a cool airsoft rifle and a few real guns around the house, but maybe that's too much? Thanks though!

Hello seagulls, could I perhaps get some opinions or advice?

I'm still not sure if I'll enter yet, in the photos I took a lot of my facial expressions and angles turned out the same, and exams are starting up next week so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to take and edit more photos. I was also quite stuck with locations and poses, as my kitchen is pretty un-cute, and I don't have the courage to go outside in the maid outfit. Hopefully I can get some more variety in angles and activites- what are some maid/baking moe things I could do? Any suggestions or criticism would be appreciated!

You're really, really cute. You pull off the hair/wig amazingly. Everything really suits you. I do think that the poses are too repetitive, though.

Maybe have a photo where you are baking/handing someone something/cleaning up the kitchen and turned for a profile view? Is your character just a smiling, kind type? I picture those characters sometimes having a hand on their cheek and smiling warmly.

Otherwise, maybe try one where you're actually playing the piano or tying on your apron. Those should give you a little more variety.

I honestly don't even know you. I've heard about you, but I'm honestly not that knowledgeable about the trips of this board. I'm mostly a /ck/ and /x/ girl. The only time I used to come to this board in the past was for Cons I would attend. Then as the J-fashion and makeup threads became more popular I would come around more. I don't samefag in threads or try to create drama. Whenever girls start to get catty, I ask them to stop. People can vouch for my character. My whole goal is to bring the ladies of this board together in a neutral space.

If your trip or any other trips comes up in the thread, its because someone much more familiar with the trips of this board and their writing styles are speaking up and pointing out stuff in hopes to stop the trolling. Simply because I'm not that knowledgeable about this stuff and they're trying to help.

Anyways, I really don't want to continue this conversation here. The thread is peaceful again and a lot of the contestants really do need the attention of myself and any other seagulls willing to provide help. Thank you for understanding.

Yup, it's the Taobao one. The size is XS (the sizing was pretty big) and I'd say it's pretty true to the measurements. The only issue I would say is that that shoulders are fairly narrow and since there's no stretch to the top it can be difficult to get on and off. The skirt in the pics is the short one, but I also have the long one and it falls to just above my knees. I'm 161cm, which I think is about 5'3".

I know you said you don't have time to take new pictures, so don't worry about this until next time. But you don't need a tripod to take good pictures. It helps a lot, but you can just stack objects to make a platform for the camera. If you have a chair or a desk as a starting base, then stack books/dvds/games/boxes/whatever you have that's got flat surfaces, you can get a better height on your camera. Obviously you want to make sure it's stable enough to rest the camera on, but as long as you stick to stuff that stacks well, it's definitely possible.

Just remember that if you edit your face or body in ANY way (unless its something that has been allowed in the rules), you can face disqualification and possible be banned from the any contest I hold for up to 6 months. So far I haven't really had any issues concerning age. We only had two people ask me and I couldn't allow them to participate because they didn't meet the age requirement. A lot of the girls who entered just look young and probably especially so for this theme.

The only image I think you should maybe leave out all-together is the one where it's just a shot of your back reaching for the book. Sure, short girls are moe, but it's also the shot that has the least outfit detail, no facial expression at all, and the hue of the photo looks out-of-place amidst all the rosy golds of the rest.

You're really pretty, by the way. I know you're wearing a wig in the photos, but that haircolor/cut is absolutely precious. c:

I'm not a good judge of moe, but my personal favorites so far are Pingu, Gulper Eel and Doki Knight. I like that Pingu's collage and coordinate are really different from everyone else's. Also I'm just really partial to Homura body pillows, haha. She seems like a girl that even otaku would feel comfortable around.

Gulper Eel was the first to put up her collage for this contest, and I feel should be commended for her promptness~ besides that, her pictures show a lot of creativity and she uses a number of props. My favorite is the photo with the umbrella where the wind's catching her skirt. Kudos for making it outside! Her outfit makes me nostalgic for character design from the 90's; the chunky trainers are especially spot-on. I like that she chose an unusual color of wig as well.

Doki Knight's entry seems basic, but all her photos are compositionally solid with good lighting. She's got that ~classic heroine~ moe. The toast photo turned out exceptionally well, but I kind of wish that she'd gone for an exterior environment for at least one of these.

I really like Bee Leaf's photos, but I think she should've stuck with her natural hair for the meido coordinate. The wig she chose has a little too much yellow in it for blonde, and a lot of the forelock is obscuring her expression. It's also kind of difficult to see what she's holding. Broom? Lacrosse stick? I 'unno.

Hester's is really good, too, but I also feel like the hairstyle should have maybe been styled differently. In buns or low twintails, maybe. It's a little too junior for my taste as is, but this is just my opinion and I'm not necessarily a fan of school animes.

I liked Eri's idea of doing a story-collage, but as much trouble as she went to in order to get her text translated, I wish that it was in English! I remember that the story was really cute, but now that the thread she posted the translations in is dead then I can't read the text on my own or rip it from a .jpg to throw through a translation service. Without context, that last picture is really hard to interpret. Is she giggling across from a table at a cute restaurant with her date, or is she crying into her sleeve sitting alone at home with her cup o' ramen?

Meisu's styling is one of my favorite coords, but I do agree with the anon who said something about lack of expression. Her outfit is adorable but the photos need a little more personality. Then again, this could simply be the type of moe that she's going for--like Yuki Nagato-style--but if that's so, then the context really needs to be fitting in order to make that personality of clinical coldness apparent.

I used slight airbrushing for a blemish or bruise, or under my eyebags, like it said in the rules. Though some of them I might have went a bit too far with the eyebags, looking back at it, and I no longer have the original image. I hope I don't get disqualified for it.

I like Pingu's too, but it seems more like it's about Homura than her! Mostly because you can barely see her face and Homu is almost always looking in the direction of the camera.

Gulper Eel's over all photos, with location/posing is great, but she's making the exact same face in three of the pictures, especially since they're all from the same angle. I wish she had more expression.

Doki Knight is probably my favorite. Everything about her's is so right.

Were you the anon that was asking about contrast and brightness? If you've got a basic understanding of photoshop, I think it would be really helpful to knock out that yellow light source in the background so as to limit your palette to just pink and cyan. picture related.

I thought Sarah Jane's looked like a really strong entry, tbh. I think the prop would have been accentuated more if you'd shooped some sparkles in or something, but the overall effect is still really cute. She poses well, and her outfits are cute--The shiny parts on her magical girl outfit didn't bother me, I've seen plenty of cosplays which use more questionable materials than that. :/
