I think she's Muslim, though, so in this situation it's pretty fair game.

Also, I have less of a problem with those being used in lolita than I do with normal converse. Jesus fucking christ, that is some shit I cannot stand.

So if I maim a pair normal converse and then glue the sole onto the bottom of another pair of converse it's cool right?

>> No.6698273

>>6698265
I never said "It's cool" I said, "I have less of a problem with..."

>>6698265
And no worries, it's probably because I see converse as the ultimate "fall-back" shoe worn by people everywhere who think they're being edgy along with normal people every day. I guess the platforms, to me, make it look like the person actually thought about their shoes before they put them on their feet, which is the exact opposite of how I see normal converse. But I'm also a total sucker for platform shoes, and I find these to be slightly easier on the eyes.

>> No.6698278

>>6698273
I must be getting old then, because I don't see them as "3edgy5u', I see Converse as a classic shoe, so to me it can go with almost anything. I do love platforms too, but I can't get into this. lol

Side note: I have about 10 types and colors of Converse, so I honestly do try to coordinate with my outfit instead of just throwing them on.

Remember a few years back when those knee-high lace up converse were really in?
And nowadays people seriously never wear these unless they're noobs or just discovering ebay j-fash?

That's what these remind me of.

>> No.6698294

>>6698273
I'm >>6698260 and I guess I was mainly being sarcastic because they are the same exact style as normal converse only they have an extra sole on them, I mean they even look like the sole isn't supposed to be there. I think they look sillier than normal converse, anyway you did explain that you like platforms and I can buy that.

>> No.6698312

>>6698278

You're right, they are very classic, and that's probably why it infuriates me so much when people see them as "alternative". I don't understand how people think that, ever.

Also, converse with wide-legged pants of any kind is revolting. Just don't do that, ever, and we'll be good.

I think I'm more ok with the platform because I feel like it "balances" out the rest of the shoe, which is very shaped to the foot.

>> No.6698316

>>6698294
Yeah, they were being sarcastic, but it was still unnecessarily hostile. And I totally understand why people think that. I just think, because converse are so foot-fitting that the extra sole balances them out. Like I said, though, I can totally see why someone would think they look ever worse.

>>6698287
I hate these. That being said, they kind of resemble Palladiums which are pretty popular now as well.

I have a pair of red and mint converse shoes that I like wearing for a casual "working girl" kind of look. Granted I'll put accessories on them or change the laces, but I always liked the look of those shoes paired with nicer clothing when it's done well.

Thoughts on these gaining popularity?
I've seen a few coords with them tagged "lolita," and while I don't think they're as bad as converse, they tend to detract from the outfit, imo.

I'm surprised that this thread is still active and yet not a single person has posted an example of the kinds of outfits they're complaining about, with the exception of .>>6698090 who is kind of a special case because she has to follow a specific dress code that bars her from wearing more traditional lolita shoes like mary janes.
