I plan on beading it. I have a couple local beadstores that have a massive selection of seed beeds in varying sizes that I plan on matching.
My other idea was lace, but i realized I didn't have the patience to dye it until it matched my fabric.

Well, let's draw up a budget, shall we?

Approximately speaking-
Blonde wig - $10-$20
Aviators - idk like, $5-$10??
Record shirt - $20 if you buy the official one, $10 if you buy a blank shirt and fabric paint
Black jeans - $15
Converse shoes - what like $40 or so for an actual pair but only about $15 for knockoffs

So, at most, that puts you at $105, but if you're frugal and shop around you can probably get away with spending about half of that.

That said, if you're only cosplaying for the purpose of flirting, I'd advise against! Be true to your own heart, anon, and find others who share your genuine interests.

hey guys! i need an opinion. i'm gonna choose fabric for my first god tier, and the popular choice is comfortable fabric.

i'm thinking jersey knit, because it's soft and drapes well (it's going to be witch). the last thread said fleece was pretty valid, but what would you prefer? which other fabrics would you also recommend?

Jersey knit's more than fine!

I'd use it for the skirt & top, but would recommend kona cotton for the hood, just because it's a longer one and a jersey one would end up pretty heavy

It laid nicely, but was sewn on sloppily and was really sparse.
Well if you have time, then there's no rush to choose! Just plan out how you want the rest of the costume, and then decide which one to go with.
(Really any of the options brought up is viable, though I will advise against yarn, just because it has it's own texture which doesn't blend well as trim)

Yes, but kona doesn't stretch.
So tops would need zippers in the back to get in and out of.
It's also a little light for pants, but it's doable if that's the only way you can get the color you want

If you do go that route, just remember to iron everything before you wear it.

I'm the anon who asked if kona would be suitable for shirts or pants. I'm new to sewing, and I'm hoping to make another god tier outfit, but I don't know my fabrics at all. If a color similar to what you're looking for is available in jersey or knit but isn't an exact, ideal canon match, is it better to get that and match your other colors to it or to try and dye them all?

Get some better lipstick. Eyeliner would probably even work better than that. But as for my opinion goes on which style, I pick the first. It looks cool, kind of cat-like. Be sure to put a little darker grey than your skin on the bottom lip though, or else your lips are going to look mighty-weird.

I'm currently in the middle of putting together a Doc Scratch outfit, about to get started on the Paper Mâché and sewing together a suit jacket because I can't find any white jackets. Closest I got was a dark cream.

Any one got good tips for making it look good? There doesn't seem to be many examples of Doc Scratch Cosplay, I hardly ever see it posted here.

It's my first cosplay too, so I expect it to be shit, but it's still fun to try.

Since we're talking about Roxy, I'm having trouble with her wig. Did just find using hot water for the curl at the ends, but the actual curl on the side of her head is giving me trouble.

Made it curl the canon way and it looked fantastic. Had it nicely pinned and sprayed the ever-loving shit out of it with got2be. Like, to the point where it was nearly dripping.

Gave it a few hours, sprayed it again.

Went to sleep, woke up for con and gave it one last spray about two hours before we left.

After taking the pins out, it still unwound after a couple hours, even though it had been rock hard. Why this, why my life.

Could I put near-boiling water in a spray bottle and spray the pinned curl, let it set and then spray it with hairspray to make it stay? I just don't get why the got2be stuff didn't work well in the end.

I feel like I had to have been imagining it, but looking back on photos it was less 'flippy.' I know that's ridiculous for synthetic fibers to do (or I figure it is, since I always assumed that once they are 'set' by heat you have to use heat again to change them).

I tried blow drying the curls for a few minutes but it didn't do anything. No curl, no melting. I planning to get a new wig (this was a last second one from a beauty shop down the road because the original one I got was shipped out two months ago and is still 'in transit') so I'm not all that worked up, mostly confused.

Regarding fringe trim, like, this stuff, but looped? Can I find that somewhere or would I hafta do it by hand? Gahhh this dress is so tricky

In terms of private photoshoots, it seems like a very cool concept.
It's pretty far away from roses design though.
A better fabric could have been used,
And megacon? Even with a friend holding it and a clip, it's really impractical and tedious.
