Can we have a thread with lolitas using their natural hair in their coordinates? All the images I have are flooded with wigs, essentially.

Of the bodice? I can only imagine so; mine does- I got it secondhand so I wouldn't know as far as any custom requests the first owner made but I can't note any differences from the stock image.

The JSK I also got secondhand and I had it altered to fit better which is the culprit as far as the waist; it's still dropped somewhat, but not deeply. Waist is about bellybutton-low on me? The JSK doesn't have the ruffle at the waist, if that's what you meant. The skirts are exactly the same on sk and jsk though.

I use my natural hair with Lolita but it's still medium length so I'm not really sure what to do with it since I've had long hair for ages up until last year. :/

I really want to grow it long again, only problem is I'm a nurse and I have to keep my hair up 24/7. Ponytails is the go to but I hate always just throwing it up that way. Any cute updo recommendations that aren't too elaborate for medium length hair? I want to keep growing it back out because I feel like it looks better on me when I wear lolita..

How long are you talking with "medium length"? French plaits are nice for medium length hair as long as it's not too layered, either double or single, and I also like looped braids or having small braids as a focal point. You can also go the route of the clip-on updos/half wigs if needed and if your hair colour is easy to match

I don't think it's the braiding, more that you're putting it in a braid/bun wet. I have long hair so sometimes when I'm too lazy to blow dry, I braid my wet hair after a shower and sleep on it, and it's definitely frizzier/grosser until the next time I wash/dry it.

I wouldn't wear my hair in a bun to sleep though, that sounds really uncomfortable.

>> No.6686287

Ahh, this thread makes me miss long hair. I was always boob length until I turned 12. Never got it past my neck again after that huge chop, but when it does grow out, I just get annoyed and chop it off.
It seems like extensions that I don't have to wear in the house/to bed/in the shower are the only option for me.

Different anon, but I'll try to explain it as best I can (at least how I see it).

She looks perfect, very elegant and she's great at what she does. I guess the way that I would look at it is that she plays it safe? Like, she got it right and now she's plateaued, but I really want to see her push the boundaries a bit more.

She looks like a model that you would see on one of brand websites. Maybe that's just how Classic is, but I want to see more creativity from her because I think she could really pull some awesome stuff off that a lot of other people otherwise couldn't.

I hope that makes sense?

Ia with this. She's lovely and she knows what works for her, and that's all she does, basically! I wouldn't say she's fallen into a rut, but she's gotten really predictable in her clothing choices.

Hope youre being sarcastic...her headdress is fucking amazing and how else would she push this boundary youre talking about? But a dead anima on her head or a fucking castle? She's really good already and not boring as a lot of classic lolitas out there so why fix something that is not broken?

Nobody's saying she has to do a complete overhaul on her wardrobe. Just something different once and awhile other than her usual. Like the other anon said, she's become predictable.

Look at it this way, it's girls like her that can really add something completely new to the style. What if we all just said "eh, we're good enough let's leave it as is." We'd all still be stuck in 2004 or whatever.

>wearing lolita as practical, everyday clothing
>boring
>k girls

this is exactly how I feel as well. Fanny uses her clothing. It isn't for specific events twice a month. She wears it, looks nice, gets her money's worth.
I have no idea why anyone wouldn't want to aspire to that.

>everyone else
Tell ya what, why don't you find some style that looks great on you. Wear it well for several years and keep trying to push some boundaries with it.
No? Because a whole lot of you can't even get down a couple well done outfits let alone several dozen.

don't know what colors work for you
wear greasy unkempt hair
pick out things too small for you
can't match 2 colors
buy everything in a set cause you know you can't match
too fat to fit
can't sew to make something better
can't tell when something sits wrong on you
clueless with make up
ect

>>6690058
>What if we all just said "eh, we're good enough let's leave it as is." We'd all still be stuck in 2004 or whatever.

Lets push some boundaries once we look decent enough to do so. We can ask her to all day long cause it's easier. Why don't we try looking as decent as she does before we ask more of people.

Diff anon but depending on the size, I make a big braid for larger waves and smaller braids for smaller waves. The braid itself will also determine the type of wave i.e fishtail, three strand, four stand, five strand, etc.
I think the rope braid is the only braid (I can think of) that won't turn into waves. It becomes ringlets on me.

I wish I knew how to style my curly hair. It's a few inches above my waist(straight) but it draws up so high when it dries that it looks like a chin length bob. People always ask me if I cut my hair or or got a weave when they see both styles.

This. I don't own any of those OTT split sweet child/costume wigs. All of my wigs are human hair mixed and I only wear dark brown or black. Wigs are perfect, especially if you know how to take care of them or have had cancer for 13 years of your life and now you're still bald.

So, judging on the revered posts ITT, its more acceptable to use long, curled/crimped hair drenched in product than a decent above ear length style, right?
Short hair lolita is an all-around faux pas?

Wigs aren't necessarily better. Most people who praise wigs to the sky don't know how fake it looks sometimes.

I think people get confused and think when strangers say something like 'omg is that your real hair?' that it's a compliment to the natural look of the wig... when in reality it means that there's something about it that looks unnatural... which is what prompted them to ask in the first place.

>lol my wig is so nice I get asked if it's my real hair everytime I wear it!

Sorry, that means it looks like a wig.

The compliment you're looking for is: Where did you get your hair done?! Because this means they believe the hair is real but the style and color is achieved via a stylist.

Honestly your glasses are fine. They aren't fug, they suit you, and they don't clash. It sucks that your astigmatism is too high for contacts - I bitch about having to fork out for toric lenses but I'd be so lost if I couldn't wear contacts since I do a lot of sports.

>>6697666
No, but it certainly helps with outfits in certain styles given that some of the sources that lolita draws inspiration from came from a time where women had long hair, so it's easier to think of long hairstyles that go with the outfit. Lolita is also associated with being frilly and very 'feminine' as is long hair. Plus long hair is sometimes like "wow" because of the effort that goes into growing it.
