Every time we have a fat people stories thread there always seems to be stories copied from here. Why are fat people so attracted to cosplay?

I'm genuinely just curious, on /fit/ you always see fat girls cosplaying as skinny characters and they seem to all have a story about 'that fat cosplayer' in their cosplaying group

the same reason fat lonely people get obsessed with rpg games. they enjoy being someone other than themselves

dont come and be all condescending about it, or even mention youre from /fit/, that just makes you seem like youre telling them that youre better than them

also, statistically any group of people who arent related to fitness, are going to have at least one fat person. same as having a group of engineers, chefs, car mechanics etc.

I think the most likely explanation is pretty boring. The majority of America is overweight/obese, so you're going to get a good number of fat people in cosplay because they also like anime, video games, etc, and want to dress up as the character. So yeah, it's just a sheer numbers game.

To answer your question, people who feel like they don't fit in with "normal" society turn to anime because you can find it online and it's ~weird. Some of those people are fat. Some of those fat people decide they want to cosplay. It's pretty easy to figure out... and obvious that you're only pretending to be legitimately curious so you can go HURRRRR FAT FATTY NERDS /FIT/ IS KING
