Dealing with my own problems I have found doctors and psychs will not prescribe me sleeping tablets despite my insomina.
Because I'm on anti-depressants

I'm not an expert but my own experience and discussion with various docs and psychs has been informative -
On anti-depressents and prone to self-harm or sucidal actions, you will not be given sleeping tablets unless it is in hospital where they hold the keys to the medicine cabinet.

I've shot with both before, and I have to agree that I thought Kris's photos were amazing straight off the camera. Beethy's photos, the few that he took, looked like something I could have taken with my phone before he edited them till they were nearly unrecognisable.
Kris also gave me the photos immediately, but Beethy made me wait months and only gave me two.

Let me talk about my experience with Beethy. I paid for him to take some photos for me when we was at our supanova. He wasn't bad to worth with. It was a short shoot and when we finished he said I would recieve the photos within 2 - 3 weeks. I didn't get them for 6 months. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to be a bother. Finally when I did message him, he didnt say that he was busy or anything, he just said oh here and sent me links to the photos. When I looked at them, they were all unedited. I as pretty upset about it. I feel like that if I hadn't messaged him I wouldnt have gotten the pictures. I know I'm not a 'famous cosplayer' but I was a paying customer. I heard nothing about the progress about the photos or why it took him so long.

His work with Gabby is good but I personally prefer the Bec ones. She just seems so... real in them. Hard to put into words.
And that's what I was getting at earlier. In some of Beethys Yaz shots you have that same real feeling. I'll find one because its not always there.
That took me a while actually. Because this is the one I meant to find to illustate my point.
For Bec the poison Ivy shot also shows this

I think both Kris and Beethy are formidable photographers. Each in their own way. Wish they'd make up already. They were fun to hang out with =/

I don't see after all these years of her being "called out" it has done much to stop her acting that way. I agree the evidence suggests she is doing a large percent of what is being said, even though it's obvious some is just blown out of proportion.

Lily's FF Lulu was eBayed anyway, so you can only imagine how it'd have looked. That photo showed the fur, which was the only good thing about the costume - cheap lace and ill-fitting plastic everywhere.

It's not the first time Lily's bought costumes and claimed to have made them. Aside from her Lulu, CC and Yuuko, she also buys her bases from China and eBay and then modifies them.

I did read your comment in full hence asked for your opinion. You put forth an intelligent comment and I'm interested in seeing more.

You seem to assume those of us commenting on this thread don't compete or if we do, we are not of a good enough caliber. It's a shame, because I believe otherwise.

It's one thing to whine and bitch and another to actually take action, ie speak with judges and organisers or cosplay to one's highest potential and improve the local standards.

I admit I'm greatly sadden by some of the comments put accross here - vendettas, bitter-chans and various unsavory things and would wish for something better.

However I would like our cosplay scene (as small and limited as it is) to grow and be nurtured correctly. Hence people who lie or cheat in competitive cosplay be suspended from competition - something that would make offending and other potential offendering cosplayers think twice about doing such harmful actions.

If you think someone is doing the wrong thing, then let officials now. But you better have prove to back it up. You cannot just accuse people because you do not like them, or their costumes. A lot of what has been said in these threads is shameful. People insulting people based on their physical appearance, saying they are awful people (pot calling the kettle black) or saying someone's cosplays are shit. If you have a dislike, or vendetta against someone that's your problem. No one else cares if you think so-and-so is fat. If you are jealous of someone else, then use that constructively: turn it into being inspired to rise above them.

Sitting here talking shit about people isn't helping our community. It is only making it toxic, and it is indeed frightening talented people away from wanting to make a name for themselves in case they become the next target. Our community is going to die, because people can't deal with bullshit and accusations. This is a hobby. A HOBBY. Where adults dress in costumes. There should be nothing serious about this! This is for fun...You all seem to have forgotten that. Okay, yes some people make money from it, but that's their deal and good for them.
