Wearing burlap isn't so bad as long as you line it with something softer, like plain cotton.

So, I've cosplayed Iwazaru once, but it was with this shitty pleather get-up that I made. It was really loose and didn't look good.

Now, I want to upgrade it to look better. I'm only asking since I have absolutely no clue where to look for this stuff, because I'm assuming this is bondage gear tier stuff, and I'm not into bondage. Where could I buy leather straps/bondage gear and shit that Iwazaru has? Pic related of course. There are some sex shops nearby, but I've never been in one, and have no idea where quality bondage gear is sold. Hopefully you guys know.

Mind you, everything is symmetrical front-and-back. It's kind of hard to see but there are straps wrapping around his thighs as well. There are 2 little leather straps around his ankles too, not in pic-related, but I don't care if those aren't available to buy, pleather would work.

I didn't make her undersuit yet, but for the tunic, I started with a fitted dress pattern and cut out the back area since the tunic does some interesting things in the back. I velcroed on the front panel of the tunic, since I installed a zipper in the front. I hope this helps!

I'm >>6676515, if you had a mannequin this would be a bit easier:

Draft the lining so that it fits you/the mannequin. Get REALLY dramatic shoulder pads (I used 1" for a cosplay with similar looking shoulders), sew it on top of the lining's shoulders, see how it looks on the mannequin, draft the outer part of the coat, and then further tack down the shoulder pads to the outer coat layer.

Basically you're sandwiching the shoulder pads between two slightly different layers... I suck at explaining, please ask if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

>> No.6676586

>> No.6676607

>>6676594
Basically, yes. I think it'd look more dramatic if you had a coat that had outer and lining layers made in a way that could accommodate the huge shoulder pads (as opposed to getting any ol' coat and sewing in shoulder pads) but who knows... And what I did for my bolero is that I hand sewed the shoulder pad area that was near my neck and then sewed from the lining, through the shoulder pad from the shoulder seam, and sewed within the shoulder seam. I'm... not sure if this is "THE WAY" to sew in shoulder pads so you might want to double check on that with an online tutorial...

Good luck with your costume!

Ah yes, Dangan Ronpa, the series of 'What the fuck shade is this haircolor'

I'd go with a really light dirty blonde, maybe? Or a mocha-ish color? Honestly her haircolor is so bizarre that I'd just go to sites you know have good quality wigs and just look for the best match you can. Some sites even have a color-matching service where you can send them a picture of the character and they'll give you their best guess.

Or, if you're good at dying wigs yourself, you could even buy a white wig and dye in just a liiiittle bit of brown and an even littler amount of pink, maybe?

I wouldn't make it a one-piece- you'd pretty much be completely restricting your arms. If you're gonna have that cape-jacket dealie, I'd attach it to both pieces to hide the place where they split apart.

How do I turn this into a half-decent sailor mercury wig? I was thinking of cutting the sides shorter so it gradually goes from bangs length to the bottom of the wig, but I don't know how to make the bangs look curly like that.

Here's a brainteaser for you.
I'm building Ruby Weapon, but I can't seem to figure out the mechanism for the arms.
I'm building each segment out of a wire base covered in paper mache with a fibreglass coating that'll then be primed, blasted, painted and glossed. I just can't figure out how to attach each segment to the next.
I'm looking at about maybe 5/6ft in size with all the pieces combined. I need to be able to fit my arm inside and be able to manipulate it.
You ever go the beach and get one of those cheap plastic snake toys? The ones made out of all the little pieces that you could make bend in any direction or go rigid? Can't remember for the life of me what they're called, but I'm thinking something like that might work.

BEARING thats was im trying to say.
basically you can fit it between two pieces of material using a hole-punch and then taking the two sides and fitting them together like a snap in the center. Im explaining this badly, but it will allow movement. basically you put it on both sides of the inside of the arm (I'm assuming that the arm design itself is like a shell/is hollow) and will let the segments move like hinges.

>>6681451
I can see how that might work. But how would I attach the segment to the bearing itself?

I'm currently getting started on Yukako's cosplay from JoJo, yet as I have been looking arund for good references, her uniform comes in multiple different colorways that people have done.

I wanted to make sure here if there was any specific colorway that would work best. It seems like the blue with violent accents or yellow ones seem popular, as is the blue with violent accents.

Okay. The thing about Jojo is, any color scheme works. That's right, ANY color scheme. If you feel like you need a reference, for sure, go off of colored art, but don't feel the need to constrain yourself, outside of maybe keeping the darks and lights correct(IE making yukako blonde probably wouldn't work)

So do what you like.

Chemicals of any sort usually eat foam. I'd say if you want to save time, just use the masking/painters tape. It's not expensive and you won't need to go through the trouble of paper mache. Better safe than sorry.

I'm looking for a fake blood recipe.

Hear me out.

I'm looking for a fake blood that stays wet. So far google has given me results for a blood gel, but I've never used it and it is expensive for larger quantities.

Anyone know of a good, will-stay-wet fake blood recipe? I'm not worried about staining. Or my skin staining. It'd be around my mouth so I prefer non-toxic!
