How should I cosplay Platinum?

I don't have a costume yet and am not sure how to go about doing it, considering I'm new to the world of cosplay.

if youre a total beginner dont start off with something that complicated
get accustomed to sewing if you arent already

Short answer? Be rich and commission all that shit if you want to look good.

I'd rather buy the costume myself because I don't have the time to learn how to sew. Where would be a good place to shop? I don't want professional quality but I don't want it to rip and tear the first few times I use it though. Where would I also go to get my measurements done?

You can just measure yourself. Get tape measure, wrap it around the part you want to measure, done. You can google guides for measuring yourself if you're not 100% which parts you're meant to be measuring.

As for who to commission, I don't know much about that personally. Shop around, read reviews, I guess...

this cosplay is impressive, yet frightening

Pick something that you could do easier.
Even if you manage to pull this off, it'll probably look bad.
Because you're not only dealing with an outfit, but a massive prop and massive wig.
The latter two probably can't be bought, especially in good quality.
And do you really want to commission everything?

Save it for a later day, man.

>> No.6664053

Better try something easier if it's your first time, even if you comission the dress. If you have a good outfit but a horrible wig and prop... Well, that's not going to look good at all.

>> No.6664490

Platinum would be a challenge for even a veteran cosplayer. A huge, unwieldy prop, an awkwardly-styled and huge wig, and a not-exactly-simple outfit? You're screwed, I'm afraid. My advice is to go for a BlazBlue character with a simpler outfit - maybe Academy!Noel/Tsubaki.

>> No.6664541

Don't.

Pic related is the only Platinum I've ever seen done right. If you can't even craft yourself, let alone are a beginner, don't bother.

Be realistic.

Well, in my opinion OP looks horrible. The anatomy of her costume might be accurate, but it doesn't even look well done. And I honestly like the ones that AREN'T anatomically correct better. The huge wig and accessories look retarded in real life.

That cosplay would be epic if it wasn't for her face looking like a vampire.
