Here is a casual coord I tend to wear with a similar bow (it's from IW's 'Flavie Check Blouse.')
You can't see my shoes but they're cream kitten heels with an ankle strap and I'm wearing frilly ankle socks with them.

their service is great and I prefer them over celga/japonica, but but I keep wondering about the international shipping cost they charge and if they are reliable in this regard.
shipping for 6 rather small and light weighting items in a regular box did cost me about 8,900 yen (ems shipping, insured). I tried uninsured airmail shipping for 3 small items the next time, and it cost me about 5,700 yen, which isn't much cheaper in comparison.

I still don't understand how it could be $10, though, especially since I picked the cheaper domestic shipping option. They keep the seller's original packaging when they send it and all the original seller did was have it between two thin pieces of cardboard wrapped in tape. It seems like princess seamed/a-line dresses hide it a little better, and my classic brand OPs are more forgiving than the JSKs. well, the box size was always pretty average, not bigger than a box you receive when you order like 2 dresses directly from a brand. they mainly reused the packing material from the auctioner, so it cannot be that expensive either, the weight was about 1,00 - 2,00 kg, so the weight cannot be the issue either...

So I just purchased $350 of stuff from CC via PayPal last Friday. It's all hooked up to my debit account, so the money comes out of my bank account and I've had no problems with this recently. Today is Tuesday (Ausfag) and I've just recieved my shipping and tracking details from CC, except the money still hasn't been taken out of my account by PayPal. Should I continue to wait or should I say something? I know a guy who bought a few hundred dollars worth of stuff a couple of months ago and Paypal didn't take out the money or contact him about it. He basically got the stuff for free.

I know this has been asked before but what do people think of altering brand dresses? i know it's a 'your money, your dress do what you like' but I bought one of baby's ridiculous OTT $1k dresses for like..2/3rd of the original price and now idk if i should keep - which would involve altering it, or chickening out and selling it off. I really would love to keep it but my bust is so small they're gonna have to remove a large chunk of it because there's no shirring. Can you even get that shit put back in if i want to resell it later? how much of an issue will it be reselling a resized 90cm btssb dress that now fits an 80cm?

Well if there is no shirring present you'd basically be butchering the dress to make some room. A good seamstress should be able to take an extra 10cm off it, but the resale value of the item goes down. Mostly because the people buying the dress would expect it to have the original measurements and frame but it wouldn't. And if it's their dream dress then they may reconsider if they have to pay or put into work to get the dress back to normal. Although I'm sure to many people altered brand is a very appealing route to go. Who knows, you may get a bite.

Just don't get greedy and don't set your expectations too high if you decide to resell it. People just won't pay mint price for something that's been altered. Especially if the measurements stray smaller.

I wonder if you can't just let a seamstress take in the seams without cutting off the excess? Depending on the dress you may not need to actually butcher it, just make it smaller all around (especially if it's mainly the bust and not the waist), 1cm in each seam may be enough. And I'm pointing out that the fit doesn't depend just on final bust measurement. Cup size AND ribcage AND final bust measurement all make a difference. Even if you're on the small end of the measurements for a dress, a large cup size is still busty, and will make the bodice ride up, because Lolita dresses are cut for a B cup at best. However, I've had friends who met the met the bust measurement, had smaller cup sizes, but their ribcage was too wide to zip up the dress all the way.

A thin layer of pleather really isn't warm, that girl isn't wearing winter boots, she's wearing thin ankle boots. I've had pretty good luck with Bhiner so far. This is my first time through with them. I like their messaging system, each admin uses a different style of font formatting, so I know roughly who I'm talking to each time. Their fees are also ridiculously cheap. The dress reservation itself was about $33, the fees were under $2. So they really do stick to their listed percentage (I've had trouble with other SS sneaking in little fees here and there).

Ok, I just got off the phone with paypal... this is a huge alert to everyone who uses paypal:

Mobile transactions (specifically in my case, the mobile transaction where I PAID the money request) Are ALWAYS flagged as Personal Payments!!!! This is a huge deal to me and I will never use my phone to pay another invoice or money request.

Paypal worked with me and has credited my account back. At this point they are going to attempt to contact the seller to find out if the package was actually shipped.

I will attempt to contact the Australian Lolitas, great advice! I've done all sorts of googling on this person's name, email, address and found a myspace page from 3 years ago but that was it.

You know... I was thinking about it. And here is what may have happened (still not acceptable): I paid for an AP skirt, with shipping, for 60 bucks total. She sent me a package picture on the day before she supposedly shipped it the first time and I noticed that the shipping was 35 dollars (not sure currency, I can check again). Then she said 'oh it was returned because I paid for shipping the day before I shipped it and apparently that's not allowed' (didn't make sense to me) and she told me she would ship it the following week once she got paid...

So if she had to pay for shipping twice, that's over 60 bucks, meaning she would have actually lost money to ship it the second time... which is maybe why she ditched the transaction because she didn't want to lose money on the shipping mistake. Now if she had asked me to pay for shipping again I would have worked a deal out with her but she never emailed me again after saying she would reship it the following week.

While this person does seem sketchy, Australia tracking is weird and basically if your item is waiting to be shipped or has been shipped out of Australia, Australia's tracking will say "no events found." Yes. You just have to wait for what you reserved to be released. Opening a dispute with a legit SS would be a real asshole thing to do.

I'm not particularly clear what you're worried about? If it's Japonica being trustworthy, I've had them bid on and hold onto about 80-90k yen worth of stuff in the last couple of months, and then shipped to me as a single parcel. I received all of it safely.

You can try asking them for a scan or a screenshot of the reservation form if it makes you feel any better? Japonica can't really help the price of the items or the waiting times, so no matter what paypal claims you make, if you want the dress you'll simply have to wait for it.

It's related to indie music and it's full of hipster and fashion-forward people. I want to fit in, but I really don't want to stand out, there'll be photographers, and I'm a nobody anyway. For a social event kind of club, I think you should be more ok. Either of these dresses would work in that case but yeah, I stand by my suggestion- strappy heeled shoe, some glammy bracelets, hair in a simple updo with a matching, eyecatching flower corsage. Maybe a small pendant as well.

Anon(s) were wondering about From Japan's seemingly high shipping prices and I offered to compare their charged price with what was noted on the EMS package when I received it. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it!) the shipping matches up. 4700 for EMS on the package shipping plus what the domestic shipping ended up being plus all the bank fees plus the system usage free = about 7500 yen, as I paid on FJ. And I used the cheap domestic shipping option so the most for domestic shipping was 160 yen, but when you're ordering 10 items... yeah. So with the bank fees (168 per transaction) and the system usage fee, it adds up fast.

I always say have your petti be no less than 10-15 cm shorter than the hem of your skirts, but no closer than 4 cm to it. So if your skirts reach 60 cm (and keep in mind, a petticoat will shorten a skirt slightly), you want your petti to be around 55-56 cm or so. That's my opinion, anyway.

If you get a petticoat that's a little too long and tends to slide down, wear it with suspenders. That will not only keep it from sliding down a bit and showing, but distribute the weight a little better from being all on your waist to just your torso in general.

You could ask to get it altered without removing the original fabric/seams. If they just re-sew the seams with an extra couple of centimetres seam allowance, it'll fit. That way, if you ever want to re-sell it, you can just take the new seams out and the original seams will still be there.

Depends on the item. Print items usually won't come back in stock (unless the brand does a rerelease, which isn't usually too often). Check often around the release date if you missed out; sometimes there are some.

Unfortunately the only places I know of that carry true ringlets are Bodyline and Fanplusfriend, neither of which are amazing quality. Arda does have some styles that come close, though.
