Thanks man! The foot and the chest are upholstery foam that's layered and covered in slip casting latex. The skull is expanding foam spackled down and covered with Bondo and then a layer of the same latex. (If you're looking to do something like this, never cover bondo or a non-porous material in latex. It will just peel and clump.

I'm doing Kanaya for the Skaia Ball thing going on, so I made a ballgown design for her, but something feels missing or off? I really want to incorporate her skirt into it because I think it'd look really nice. Suggestions on what to add/remove? Also should I paint myself white or grey (after resurrection vs before)?

Reference pic attached. Also I've already started on it and got the base down, but construction help (how would I attach the ruffles on the big skirt?) would also be appreciated. Art is not my forte, so I'm sorry for the shitty drawing.

Maybe take out the top black ruffle/thing around the waist? That's a place where you don't want volume. Also perhaps consider making the side with the buttons more sweeping and curved, perhaps with a layer of ruffles on it? (search aatp gathered chiffon dress)

Agreed with the above anon - the proportions you've given the sketch comboed with the big black ruffle makes it look short-waisted. Either modify it into a drop-waist or change the ruffles into something less voluminous.

Yeah, that gathered chiffon dress is my dream dress, though I'm having a tough time finding it secondhand now :(, I might just try to make something similar myself in a colour I really want.

Anyway, I think if possible, try to seperate the red and green with black? Perhaps add green accents (flowers, beading, trim, ribbon, a gem, a symbol?) to places on the outfit where there is a lot of black, like the neck/chest, gloves and hair.

Instead of the lines of ruffles ending in a curved perpendicular to the diagonal ruffle that goes to the hip (reminds me of Kanaya), have all of them gather to the hip, and up the number of lines of ruffles to 4 (again less like Kanaya). Also if feasible take out that triangle and have a partial hoop skirt since the 3am dress has a slit and that's part of the signature of it.

I agree with>>6608500 that it's good- being recognisable and relatively simple for a ballgown, but there's something about the even tiers of the bottom half that I'm not really comfortable with- probably because of how the diagonal line created by the layers as they go lower clashes with the simplicity and (almost) symmetrical-ness of the top and bow. It's like you're dividing yourself up into quarters, while thirds or halves are more pleasing to the eye (or it's just me ><). Seconding >>6608507 , or perhaps you could either decrease the difference in tier lengths- make the top two layers longer so there are the most ruffles at the bottom, move the bow to the side/apex of the skirt layers or have the skirt part in the middle?

I think they're kind of a hollow plastic material. Those were the horns that I saw on Ebay a couple of years ago before Rachel got to them.

One common problem I see in a bunch of quadsuits is they don't pad the body at all.
Not padding the chest will give the appearance that your furry just has real long legs, or not padding the butt will look like the back is just oddly hunched.
There's also many that make their head with the same angle as a normal fursuit head, and then have a very depressed-looking giraffe-wolf creature.

OH MY GOD, WIZARDY HERBERT COSPLAY. AMAZING.

Well, you can really do what you feel - there's no colour canon, no standard way of doing black and white colouring and no popular fanon depiction (like, say, with Matt from DN before the anime came out) since WH isn't really a fandom.

Personally, considering Herbert wanted to be an accountant and is stated in the text to have rebelled against the very idea of fun, and considering that his art is black and white, I think using greys and beiges would be a good idea - maybe adding in khakis and olives to go with his military nerd personality, although go light on that since you don't want to look like Generic Military Guy With Eyepatch/a really shitty Big Boss/etc. You could also try adding Roxy-pink as accents to call back to the illustrations in her book, though Herbert the character would probably not wear pink.

Another option could be to use rich colours based off Harry Potter's uniform, since Herbert is a Harry Potter analogue.

If you have a WH cosplay group together, of course, you're going to need to coordinate your colours all together. We know Russet wears burgandy and purple (likely really bright, rich shades), and the opposite of burgandy and purple on the colour wheel is yellow and green - make those light, dull shades and you get khaki and olive again.

Here, I made some proposed colour schemes for the WH main three - from top down, Herbert, Russet and Beatrix. I tried to incorporate what we know about the characters (their hair colours, Beatrix's pink ring, etc) while giving them each a third on the colour wheel mostly to themselves.

Make an effort to get some awesome props together. If you've got some art skills and know someone with a patch embroidery machine (or are willing to pay a service to do it) you could make the camper sash. The Singe Villan would be a pretty easy prop and make for some fun RP opportunities - just search for 'wind up monkey' into eBay and buy the cheapest, ugliest one there is. There's also the Mobius Slipknot itself - look for a cosplay jewellery tutorial for that.

I'm buying a morphmask to replace the head, I might be able to salvage the old head into a WV or something because of the size of the eyes.
Seeing as I'm replacing the head, I need to worry about the zipper. How would I deal with the cut end of it?

And so I can avoid this disaster in the future, what's the best way of attaching carapace eyes to a morphsuit?
