Hey /cgl/
My friend and I are going to an anime convention this April, and I need someone to cosplay. I cant stand when cosplayers have faces that dont match the characters whatsoever. It's not that I hate it, just personal preference. So I'd like some suggestions of who to cosplay based on my face. Bumping with super srs straightface pics.

That aside - OP, cosplay who you like. It's pointless to cosplay from a series you know nothing about. You're not gonna have fun if you don't have an attachment to the thing you're dressing up as.

If you want better suggestions, give us a list of shows/fandoms you enjoy. Do you watch anime? Read manga? Comics? Play vidya?

How about your height? Your weight? Bodytype? Sewing skills? Prop skills? Did you want something complicated or something more simple?

Okay, well first you need to drop the "I cant stand when cosplayers have faces that dont match the characters" attitude because facts is, nobody is ever going to look any where close to an anime character because they're have to be deformed in real life. Even Western comic book characters, you can only come so close.

Second, cosplay somebody you like. If there's one thing that bothers ME it's when you approach a cosplayer at a convention and you're a fan of the character they've chosen, you start talking to them about the relevant material and they say "lol, I don't know who this is, I just liked the design".

What kind of anime/game/comics/manga do you like?

I think a body type is more important then what your face looks like tbh so you should hit us up with a body shot so we can rule out what you can and cannot do. Even if you're fat or emaciated, you can always adapt cosplay to match that even if you don't look 100% accurate.

It's just over the past few years I've watched a lot of things, and I like seperate opinions.
Im fine with everything but comics

I can sew decently and I have a friend who can help with more complex things. I'd like something slightly complex, but not like "Let's sew a huge frilly dress with all these fancy little parts and whatnot"

OP, as other people have said, just cosplay from a series that you like. You have a generic white girl face, so you're not going to match anything from most of those anime series you listed.

I don't look anything like my beautiful queen Lana Parrilla, but I'm sure as Hell still gonna cosplay Regina because I fucking love the character. Accuracy of costume/props is what should concern you, not accuracy of your face.

OP do you mind crossplaying? I say this due to the nature of anime that most girls are stick thin and you are a bit curvier than that (not bad though) But if you want to stick to females, there are plenty of older/adults that I could whip a good list up of.

Otherwise, with your build you could pull off about any average teen boy. And your bust isnt TOO big so that it would hurt if you binded for a whole convention day. What say you?

It's not hard, it just takes the right 'tools'. Its pretty common knowledge to avoid ace bandages, as its super constrictive and can cause backache after just a few hours. What you CAN do is either:
>wear a sports bra that is a size smaller, or overlap two of your fitted size to compress your chest flatter.
>use sports tape; seen in tutorial pic (works for open chested cosplay as well as closed)
