Shows, series, and things you want to see cosplayed more.

There's probably something you're sick of seeing crowding up cons. There's so much shit out there that's overdone and too popular for it's own good, or so old and played out that you wish those people would just give up cosplay because you're sick of seeing their same old shit at every con.

So, what's the thing you want to start seeing at cons more? What's the show you'd sacrifice kittens to Satan if it meant it would replace Homestuck as the most cosplayed thing at your next con? What would you be encouraged to start working on if you knew that there were going to be others at your next con dressing up from the same show?

Personally, I'd love to see more Wakfu. Great series, awesome setting, amazing designs, and tons and tons of variety.

I've been interested in Wakfu, but I'd like to find a reliable site that streams subs rather then having to download. Or at least get a new computer I can actually download the game to. I'd hate to pick a character just to find out I actually can't stand them.

Anyway, things I'd like to see. Some more NIS cosplay(Disgaea, La Pucelle Tactics, Rhapsody, etc....) Lesser Aksys games like 999. More of Junjo Ito's work like Tomie, Uzumaki, maybe even Gyo if you want to try making crazy zombie walking animals.

Also one of my husband and my favorite series. Jing:King of bandit. We've only ever ran into one other Jing cosplayer at a convention and the character I cosplayed was only ever recognized by one person and she couldn't even remember the characters name. Just the "Flower girl that sews, who shows up in the last volume of the series)

Hmm, I don't think there's really any series I'd like to see cosplayed that much. I like a lot of different anime, so if more anime in general was replacing all this western stuff at anime cons, I'd be really happy. If I had to pick from this current season, most likely Magi! There's a good male/female ratio, big cast of characters, and the story is great.

This show's designs always interested me because my hip-to-waist ratio would probably work for it (42 hips, 28 waist). I just need to dig it up on my external. I think a friend transferred the show onto there a couple years ago.

Why is it French? How is it even French when it imitates anime so much?

Why does it sound like 'waifu'? What does 'Wakfu' mean?

Why do people watch it? Or play it? I'm not really sure which one's the popular version.

In that order:
It's French because it's made in France by the French Studio Ankama. It does imitate anime, but that's because France really likes the aesthetic. It's done in Flash, however, and it looks a little bit different than every other animated show out there.

Wakfu is a sort of spirit energy in the universe of the show and games. It's one of those made up words that just add flavor to the fiction.

People watch it because it's a fun, visually pleasing, and interesting action adventure show, with just a touch of RPG humor. The MMOs are both fairly popular, though Wakfu is still getting off the ground. It's been a slow burn for an MMO.

It's successful because it's an interesting world with colorful characters and awesome places. It's a unique bit of fantasy with it's own style. The biggest draw would probably be the girls with wide hips and the allure of the 12 different races.

Wakfu, both in euro-land and america, is still being constantly patched and updated. It's a far more complete game than it was a year ago, but I don't know how well it's doing. Square Enix, who was publishing it for the english speaking world, just dropped the game and now it's running independently for better or worse.

What I hate is when big publishers do exactly that. A small franchise asks or gets offered to have it as its publisher for mutual benefit.

Then the large publisher rapes the franchise up the bum and leaves it.

No extraordinary advertising, no extra value added, fat share of the money gained.

Ubisoft did this to heroes of might and magic 6 for example. Ubisoft sent a team of coders to help out, the coders helped but also added in unfinishable projects and then bailed out by release, blaming original team for everything. Original team had to pull money out of its own pockets to make it at least playable. Its a poo-heap.

I would love to see characters from IIDX and Pop'n cosplayed more, but there is usually one or two for every convention so I guess I am satisfied.

It is probably for the best that the bemani cosplaying community is small with decent cosplayers, than huge with a lot of variability of whether or not the cosplay is good.

It was a good generation for DS VNs. Clover by far is the most cosplay 999 character due to her interesting designs and her ending. The fact she gets a new outfit in VLR just adds to it. I'm planning to cosplay as Tenma myself for a Fanime group.

Never did own Breath of Fire III, but I played the shit out of I & II. Any Breath of Fire group would be great. I would like to see gijinkas from sources other than Pokemon and MLP. Yes, I know those two are gijinka fodder, but I'm getting a little tired of them. If you have to cosplay from them, at least shoot for a legendary or a gala dress. Shoot, I will take PaRappa the Rapper over Fluttershy anyday.

Hopefully, a lot of you have seen people share the same interest in seeing cosplay from series other than the same old shit that overloads every con you go to.

I want you to go and do something about that. Be that one motherfucker who shows up wearing the costume that you know that one other motherfucker is going to flip their shit over. Make something you like because you want to and because it's the sort of thing you want to see at cons.

Maybe other people will join you, maybe you'll just be alone, but it's as good an excuse as any to make a costume.
