You'd be suprised how often I watch that exact phrase play out. If I've learned anything it's that all SJW warriors lack the capacity for logic. Instead of just doing your face black, try and get a nice tan going on before hand. They can't yell at you for your skin color then, since it's natural.
Hopefully you don't need to be pale for anything else. If you do though, try getting a tan for a tone in the middle and use make up a shade or so lighter than your skin for being pale and use a shade or so darker for when you cosplay her.

I cosplayed Mama India lately from Hetalia and even though I'm whiter than snow at the moment I used a foundation that I have when I was tan. I'm never going to where her again because people were horrible.
