Like $100 or so. I know you can find decent build it yourself kits for about $150 and I may end up doing just that. Just lookin to save any money I can but without too much of a hit to quality.

Quick question.
In the making of this chest plate I came to the conclusion I don't know how to wear it. I mean, its just a chest plate that hangs on your chest with nothing closing it on the back side.
How would I go on making this hang on my chest? I've seen people do it in Seth Nightroad's cosplays, so how do they do it?

When folded? Color me confused, I don't understand what you're talking about here. Why is the armor folding? Care to point out on your reference where you're talking about? Are you talking about it having to bend at your knee, having the pieces slide over each other for movement? Or are you talking about the curve of your thigh?

And no, it has nothing, its just standing there magically. Its sorta roundish on the top, and it has nothing to hand.
I guess I could try clear straps if I can't come up with any other idea. Thanks.

>> No.6567243

What are you covering your wonderflex in, if anything? It you planned on *just* using wonderflex it's not going to cover seams like that smoothly as far as I'm aware. You're going to have to use something like fiberglass, bondo, paper mache, etc over the top and sand it down.

I know /cgl/ can kind of hate the dick sucking of Kamui in the progress threads, but she has solid work and a lot of helpful tutorials. See what she's done and adapt it to what you need.

My guess would be to hide halter like straps under the ribbon/bow thing that's coming down and around her neck. To get to to stick to your body closer hide a second set of straps on the botton that wrap around under the blue cloth.

Very little. I've helped in making a full suit of armor before. I helped assemble the armor and such but not much in the design end or anything like that. However the one thing I can tell you is that it gets heavy even after wearing it just for a little while.

copper work-hardens and gets brittle. wears out drill bits, leaves very sharp hard-to-remove burrs. you can anneal it, but it changes the appearance a lot. also, copper is pretty dense, so you'll have a heavy bit of armor.

that said, i imagine it would be a very pretty armor once polished up...just be careful about the above.
